Good "early" morning, WA2K folks.

Wow! Had no idea that The Fab Four did that one, edgar. Thanks, buddy.

Hugh Laurie is one talented man with a fabulous sense of humor. That Sophisticated Song was funny.

Hey, Brit. Thanks for the info on Hugh. Can't wait to hear his new recording.

Love Jim Croce and Bad Leroy Brown is one of my favs

Also appreciated the three versions of I Fought the Law. Surprised that The Crickets did that one.

Tom Jones' Burning Hell was a new one to me, buddy. Thanks for the introduction. Laters, I hope.

Our art for today, y'all, and this is a test.

Good morning. I hope parole is denied John Lennon's killer. Not just because he killed once. I don't think he is stable enough to be among the rest of us.

Very loose interpretation in English, folks.

Yes, we Toreros, With ardor flaming,
Feel delight and thrill with joy When we combat behold.
'Tis a festal day, seats are crowded,
Full with eager throngs to view the coming treat;
Loud is the shouting, All eyes are straining;
Surging to and fro, the people strive their hero to greet.
Hear the shouting and the loud applauding
When the bull leaps out and stands with haughty mien!
'Tis indeed the fete of hearts courageous
'Tis the day when brave deeds are seen.

CHORUS: Come on! Prepare! On guard! Beware!
Ah! Toreador, be careful! Toreador! Toreador!
Know this, to help thee in thy valiant fight,
One heart is fondly prayerful,
For thee that true one waits, Toreador!
For thee that true one waits.

Suddenly the noise is silenced, the noise
is silenced. What can the matter be?
Then comes the answer, then comes the answer;
Swift a mighty bull bounds forth, strong and free.
On he flies! He strikes his enemies,
A horse is overthrown, With him falls a picador;
Ah! Bravo, Toro, wildly is shouted,
Onward flies the bull, now here, now there,
In frenzy he fights. Goaded by the banderillos,
With furious looks he comes; the ring is red with gore!
Terrified all try to jump the fences,
Time for you, O Toreador.

Good of Paul to salute John that way.
I observed once before that I love bullfighting songs and the excitement associated with bullfighting, while at the same time being opposed to such treatment of bulls.
Don't care for fox hunting neither - Smile

@edgarblythe,
edgar, Peter Sellers is one of the funniest and most talented men that I have ever seen on the silver screen. That was hilarious, Texas. (miss ya, Peter)

Wonder why they always called seductive women, foxy?

That film would be highly educational, particularly to the young of that region.
Warsaw Concerto - thanks for that one. I never remember these pieces by name, only recognizing them once they are underway.

@edgarblythe,
Fabulous Scottish song, edgar. I only recently found out that my Scottish heritage is from my third cousin.(don't like him)

Here's another. I had forgotten that Robert Louis Stevenson was a Scot.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, that Ferris Wheel by Donovan was captivating. How many carnivals we went to as kids and as grownups. Thanks, Texas, for the reminder of happy days.

Time for me to say goodnight, and here is more bad news from our reporter in Moscow.

Moscow is suffering from the worst smog in almost a decade, as the Russian capital continues to swelter in the hottest weather since records began.

The conditions have sent pollution in the city to ten times above safe levels.

Russia's chief lung doctor said the carbon monoxide level was the equivalent of smoking two packs of cigarettes every few hours.

The smog was sparked by some 43 peat fires in the Moscow region

Perhaps this happy song will cheer them up, but I doubt it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59m-WU_P6d8

and for once, brief lyrics.

Stillness in the grove, not a rustling sound
Softly shines the moon, clear and bright
Dear, if you could know
How I treasure so
This most beautiful Moscow night.

Goodnight, all.

From Letty with love

Good morning, edgar. Smile

Yep, Sade and all of us should cherish the Day, however, Texas, this morning the moon had a golden ring. Uhoh! If tonight no moon we see, we may expect an angry sea.

A couple of items this AM, folks. First, a birthday girl. (for my daughter)
