Gwynne was a pretty good actor, apart from his role in the TV show.

@Francis,

I looked on YouTube for that Ray Stevens song about Barry Manilow, but they don't have it.

Maybe it's actionable.

Good morning, WA2K

Good morning, WA2K folks.

edgar, loved that one by The Band. I Shall be released rather reminded me of Please release me let me go.

Ah, The Far Side of the Hill by the Limeliters. That brings back a memory.

There are songs by Barry Manilow that I like. Love that Memory by him, Francis, and the visuals were awesome. I know Ray Stevens loves to poke fun at a lot of songs, and I Need you Barry Manilow was one of them.

Don't know La Vita e Bella, but I liked it.

Hey, McTag. Saw the photo of you playing guitar. Great one, buddy.

Izzie tells me that she and Barry the Brit are going to see a reunion of Les Miserables. Wish I could be there.

How about one by dear Dan for the morning, y'all. My boy loved him,

@edgarblythe,
While we await your return, edgar, I'll play for our listeners a clip of a great movie starring Yul Brynner (and Ingrid Bergman) whose birthday is today.

How surprised I was to find out that Pat Boone sang the theme song

@Letty,
Dan Fogelberg and Ray and Englebert on Release me are good ones to start out on letty. I like Yul Brynner. I watched him the other day in a costume drama, in which he portrayed an Indian American involved with other Indians who had a pyramid.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for the comments, Texas. Anna and the King was a great one, too.

I know that song, buddy, but I had to do more research on Ivory Joe.

Ivory Joe Hunter (October 10, 1914 – November 8, 1974) was an African American R&B singer, songwriter and pianist, best known for his hit recording, "Since I Met You, Baby" (1956). Billed as The Baron of the Boogie, he was also known as The Happiest Man Alive.

He was christened Ivory Joe as an infant; "Ivory Joe Hunter" is therefore not a nickname or a stage name, but the artist's real birth name. He is not to be confused with Motown producer-songwriter Joe Hunter.

I know Bon Jovi, but not the individual members; one of them is a birthday boy, so here is a tribute to him, y'all.

@edgarblythe,
Appreciate your honest observations, edgar. I sorta enjoyed it. Love that Amor song by Ben, Texas. Makes me want to get up and dance. Smile

Remember Bill Withers' Lean on me? This Brawny guy is doing it now.

When I saw Gary Moore listed, I anticipated Durward Kirby's pal, from early TV days. Thrill is gone has become BB's signature song over the past twenty or so years.

Izzie, if ever there was a song written for you, Ben Harper's was the one.

Lyrics:

"Better Way"

I'm a living sunset
Lightning in my bones
Push me to the edge
But my will is stone

Fools will be fools
And wise will be wise
But i will look this world
Straight in the eyes

What good is a man
Who won't take a stand
What good is a cynic
With no better plan

Reality is sharp
It cuts at me like a knife
Everyone i know
Is in the fight of their life

Take your face out of your hands
And clear your eyes
You have a right to your dreams
And don't be denied

I believe in a better way

er, Edgar, not too fond of Jack's Scott's My True Love.Smile

So often I came to deal with life's adversities by returning to the fight/flight syndrome. If one faces his problems and stares them down, the fear will disappear.

Here's one that is calming and true.
