@edgarblythe,
Funny, edgar. Used to be the same situation when my kids were asleep (finally) and the damn icecream truck would come by playing some dumb tune, and up they would come.

Hey, don't know Gilbert Begaud, but like his rain song.

Felt like playing this one, y'all, cause it has a special meaning to me.

If you folks haven't noticed, there's a revolt planned against the hamsters.

Well, it seems as though we are back on the air, WA2K folks.

The heat here is oppressive, so I could not sleep too well.

Inspired by McTag, I found this one by Willie Nelson, but not Hank Locklin.

Hats off to the hamsters, y'all.

Thanks for Lonesome Road and Fraulein, letty. And the Carol Burnett bio. She is one that has been on TV about as long as my family has had TV, until she retired.

My daughter came here for a weekend visit from Denver. Had her and another daughter, plus two grandkids here yesterday. She left for a time, but we expect her back.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, thanks again for the comments, buddy, and I'm glad you have your daughter and grandkids with you

I love that one by Ricky Nelson, and somehow this birthday boy reminds me of him.

I once saw a negative comment about this Johnny Cash song on a2k. But, it reminds me of certain people and I play it with love.

@edgarblythe,
Hmmm. I like I Still Miss Someone by the man in black, edgar. Why would anyone make a negative comment on that song?

Well, today is this lady's birthday, and she sings about summertime, so it seems appropriate, y'all.

Hi All!

Here's a taste of ancient britain.

It is nostalgic to the point of disbelief to us 40+'rs over here.

Have a great day all!

@mark noble,
Love that song, mark, so I guess we must have a Lowery painting of the day. Thanks, Wales.

@mark noble,
My word, Mark, I just found out the meaning behind Tony's Yellow Ribbon song.
In 1980 the nation adopted the symbol of the yellow ribbon during the Iran hostage crisis. The yellow ribbon idea came from Orlando's hit "Tie A Yellow Ribbon." It has since become an international symbol of hope and homecoming.

Here in America we have what is know as American Movie Classics. They have been doing all the oldies, Wales, and last evening I watched the original of The Day the Earth Stood Still. Have not seen the remake, however.

Here's the theme, y'all.

@Letty,
This Lowery painting is filled with pasty Brit zombies living in harmony.

Good choice of painting Letty. Razz

The new Day the Earth Stood Still is not worth the film its printed on, letty. I love the original.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, Didn't know that girl either, Texas. It seemed appropriate since it was summer and her birthday.

Ah, dear Brook. Don't know So Close, but I understand your meaning, Texas.

Too late for dear Karen, however.
