edgar, Had to search your Hollies, and also dear Izzie's Bucks Fizz.

Bucks Fizz are an English pop music group, formed in 1981 to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest that year. They won with "Making Your Mind Up", which is still their best-known song. The group was initially made up of four vocalists: Bobby G, Cheryl Baker, Mike Nolan and Jay Aston, whose gimmick was that they were all blond. The group went on to have a successful career around the world, although their biggest success was in the UK where they had three No.1 singles and became one of the top-selling groups of the 1980s. Their worldwide record sales have exceeded 15 million.

The Hollies are an English rock group, formed in Manchester in the early 1960s, though most of the band members are from through out East Lancashire. Known for their distinctive vocal harmony style, they became one of the leading British groups of the era. They enjoyed considerable popularity in many countries, although they did not achieve major US chart success until 1966. Along with The Rolling Stones and The Searchers, they are one of the few British pop groups of the early 1960s that have never officially broken up and that continue to record and perform. The Hollies were inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 201

Thanks for the introduction to both, edgar and Miss Iz. Love 'em.

UhOh. edgar's Bus Stop reminded me of guess who?

Matt Munro, the singing bus driver. Of all things, he's singing one of my favs by The Fab Four. (well, Sir Paul anyway)

Barry the Brit will be getting better soon.

edgar, I keep on rolling with the flow as well.

Izzie, I used to get Charlie Rich and Charlie Pride mixed up, but edgar straightened me out. Love that one as well, hun.

Strange that you should mention Dave's roses, because I had another experience early this morning. More about that later.

Speaking of flow, remember Robert Burns? Smile

This is beautifully done.

Yep same old Charlie. He started on Sun Records with Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis and Roy Orbison - about 1957 or earlier.

@Izzie,
Never heard Lying in the Arms of Mary by Boyzone, Izzie. I really liked it. Ah, the name of Mary.

Here's a short one on acoustic guitar followed by the lyrics, y'all

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IisiGtXaDLc&feature=related

For it was mary, mary, plain as any name can be;
But with propriety, society will say 'marie'.
But it was mary, mary, long before the fashions came:
And there is something there that sounds so fair,
It's a grand old name!

Now, when her name is mary, there is no falseness there;
When to marie she'll vary, she'll surely bleach her hair.
Though mary's ordinary, marie is fair to see;
Don't ever fear sweet mary, beware of sweet marie!

For it was mary, mary, plain as any name can be;
But with propriety, society will say 'marie'.
But it was mary, mary, long before the fashions came:
And there is something there that sounds so fair,
It's a grand old name!

I have never been a Marvin Gaye fan, but I like a few of his records, such as this one.

@edgarblythe,
I have always like Marvin Gaye, edgar, and that Mercy song is another good one by him. Incidentally, thanks again for the comments on what we play on WA2K.

How about another mercy, folks. As I recall, this has always been a jazz number, but I like this Brit Bunch.

That's pretty good, letty.

My youngest grandson (for the present) was here yesterday. He is what is known as a busy boy. He is still when he sleeps, but after that bears a lot of watching and playing with. So, I thought about this song.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, edgar, I love Watching Scotty Grow. We've all watched our kids grow, right?

Found an old Kodak camera in my garage and it reminded me of this, folks.

Just saw my daughter off to spend time with her older sister. Today is her 31st birthday. My baby.
Turn around is a wonderful song. I have a vinyl album titled, Love is a Gentle Thing, by Harry Belafonte. Turn Around is one of the featured songs.

Here is a song about fast cars, from the 1960s.
