This is the anniversary of the typewriter. I owe my use of a copmputer to the fact I could not find a decent typewriter and so got a computer for the purpose.

First allow me to acknowledge dj's Yo La Tango songs. They were good, Canada, and I found out that the phrase means I Have Got it in Spanish. Thanks for the introduction.

edgar, once again you have played one of my fav's from Elvis. Somehow, I thought some of the lyrics said, "Get outta that bed and wash your face and hands"...."get into that kitchen make some noise when them pots and pans.."

Fond memory of singing that to my Dave.

I believe that the hurricane in Galveston took a number of lives because no one was prepared for it and it took them by surprise. This, of course, leads me to play one of Glen's best recordings.

edgar, missed your moments in history, buddy, and I just saw the bit about the invention of the typewriter. When I took typing in high school, one was judged upon the speed.

letty, this is Big Joe Turner's version of Shake Rattle and Roll. Bill Hailey sanitized it for his record. Elvis is pretty close.

Get outta that bed, wash your face and hands
Get outta that bed, wash your face and hands
Well, you get in that kitchen, make some noise with the pots 'n pans

Way you wear those dresses, the sun comes shinin' through
Way you wear those dresses, the sun comes shinin' through
I can't believe my eyes, all that mess belongs to you

I believe to the soul you're the devil and now I know
I believe to the soul you're the devil and now I know
Well, the more I work, the faster my money goes

I said shake, rattle and roll, Shake, rattle and roll
Shake, rattle and roll, Shake, rattle and roll
Well, you won't do right to save your doggone soul

Yeah, blow Joe!
(Saxophone break)

I'm like a one-eyed cat peepin' in a seafood store
I'm like a one-eyed cat peepin' in a seafood store
Well I can look at you till you ain't no child no more

Ah, shake, rattle and roll, Shake, rattle and roll
Shake, rattle and roll, Shake, rattle and roll
Well, you won't do right to save your doggone soul

I get over the hill and way down underneath
I get over the hill and way down underneath
You make me roll my eyes, even make me grit my teeth

I said shake, rattle and roll, Shake, rattle and roll
Shake, rattle and roll, Shake, rattle and roll
Well, you won't do nothin' to save your doggone soul

Shake, rattle and roll!

Galveston is an exceptional record. Glenn has several of those, in my opinion.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for the Big Joe Turner version, edgar. Yes, Glen has done many that I really like. Wichita Lineman is another good one by him.

I've been poking around looking for another version of Shake, Rattle, and Roll, and look what I found. I don't even know this guy, folks.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, that one was hilarious by Ben. Loved it, Texas.

Well it's June Carter Cash' birthday, so here is a funny exchange with Marty Robbins and a song from The Grand Ole Opry.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! I have never heard the bird sanctuary by Ian, edgar. Love it! I guess my favorite by him is Bungle in the Jungle.

I think most of us are familiar with Greek and Roman mythology, loved to read all those stories when I was a kid. How about some more pipes for the late afternoon.

Debussy, then?

edgar knows how I love Bobby Darin. Didn't know that he had done Where Have All the Flowers gone, however.

Mark, you sent me to the archives.

Rhydian Roberts (born 14 February 1983), popularly known as Rhydian, is a Welsh operatic singer and baritone, recognised as one of the United Kingdom's top crossover artists.He rose to fame following his 2007 appearances on the fourth series of the UK talent show The X Factor in which he was placed second. Since then, he has released two bestselling albums, done a UK tour (2009), and made gala and charity appearances in his native Wales and at the Royal Albert Hall, London. In late 2010, he embarks on a major Europe and UK arena tour of The War of the Worlds - Alive On Stage!

Wow! He is fabulous doing I Believe, buddy. Thanks for the introduction.

In response to Bobby's flowers, here another flower song.

@mark noble,
Mark, I love the Phantom of the Opera, and that young man did a fabulous job. I have heard so many versions of it, and even saw a great movie about the legend of the Phantom. Thank you again, my friend.

Back Later with my goodnight song, folks.

Oops, missed one of my favorite Canucks. Will listen and comment later, dj.
