@Barry The Mod,
Thanks for the clarification Mr. Stairway to the Stars. I recall Dr. Who. I used to watch it many years ago. I'm with Tai Chi. Great song, buddy.

Great special effects in your visuals of Dr. Who's tribute to Christopher Eccleston.

Speaking of "paint by numbers" this self portrait by Manet sold for $33, 000 in London.

I always liked Manet better than Monet until I saw his impression of Notre Dame.

Thanks, Letty, for the morning song. Smile

Speaking of Stairway to the Stars, here's a nice acoustic guitar version of the song.

@JPB,
JPB, I love that instrumental version of Stairway to Heaven. Thanks, Miss Squirrel.

Here's one that I know and don't know why I know it, y'all. Had to ask my older sister and when I found out that it was from An American in Paris, I was more perplexed because I never saw that movie.

An jazz instrumental version of I'll Build a Stairway to Paradise. Be sure and check out the info under the visual.

@edgarblythe,
Amazing, edgar. Love that one by Neil. Didn't know it, however.

From a stairway to a ladder, folks.

I think that there was a movie called Jacob's Ladder based on the hymn.

I love Nina Simone thinking she is a goddess and thought this was appropriate

and for some Nina love of life;

and for some Nina fun;

And I encourage any one who has a favourite Nina Simone song to put it down here.
Does anyone have a better Sea lion woman version they could share?
Thanks for you time.

I did not mean to interrupt anything,
All my best sometime sun

PARIS - Prince Albert is giving Monaco a new princess.

The boyish if balding monarch is ditching decades of eligible bachelorhood, and is now engaged to South African ex-swimming champion Charlene Wittstock. Albert's betrothed has iconic shoes to fill, stepping into a role vacant since the much-beloved Princess Grace died in a car crash in 1982.

Royal watchers are ecstatic at Wednesday's palace announcement, and they're wondering: Is the bespectacled playboy prince manning up? And most importantly, will the 52-year-old Albert finally produce a legitimate heir?

"It's been 30 years since Grace died, 30 years they've been waiting for a first lady, a princess, a dream beauty, glam. And voila!" says Colombe Pringle, executive editor of Point de Vue magazine, which has followed Albert's amorous adventures.

@sometime sun,
S.S., that is the whole point of our cyber radio station. No one interrupts, they play music here, buddy.

Sometimes I like Nina and sometimes not, but I love those three songs that you played, especially The Sea Lions.

@edgarblythe,
Rapunzel? Fabulous, edgar. The Dave Matthews did a great job with the lady who he implores to "....let down her hair..." Hmmm, I think there's a version that features "Rampion" as well. Thanks, Texas, for that and the latest marriage of royalty.

A different Royal Wedding.

@Letty,
I worship Nina but as like you I have to be in the right place at the right time for her.
And some of her work is just plain hard.
I am lucky today I feel stronger and when I do she will always make my strength appreciate.
Will still avoid '4 Women' though.

All my best.

@djjd62,
Wow! That was a great one from Carole, dj, but I'm not so certain that "the girl" will be encouraged by it, however.

S.S. It is nice to have you here, buddy. Looking forward to more.

Speaking of earthquakes, we felt a slight tremor that was the result of hurricane Camille in Virginia. The ensuing floods wiped out an entire family at Davis Creek.

For those who are interested, here is the memory.

dj, had to smile at Jerry Lee's Whole Lot of Shakin Going On. Please tell ehBeth to report on the condition of things

Well obviously it has ed. Albert will insist upon it but leaving out the amorous adventures he doesn't insist upon. If you know what I mean--nudgenudge, winkwink, say no more.

Colombe is in a privileged position which even with my slight knowledge of French manners and decorum it is easy to see that he will know how to keep it.

It makes you wonder at who reads such tripe but I would have a go at writing it for the invitation to a box at Longchamps on the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe day never mind all the other perks. I might throw my typewriter across the room and burst into tears at how low I had become but I would pick it up, grit my teeth and get it done.

What was the ad next to the article for. Onions?

Julie Christie, the rumors are true
As the pages turn, my eyes are glued
To the movie star and his sordid life
Mr. X and his old-suffering wife
I spent so much time dreaming about Eleanor Bron
In my room with the curtains drawn
See her in the arms of Paul
Say it, I can say no more
As the music swells somehow stronger from adversity
Our hero finds his inner peace
So now I'm looking for a lucky charm
With a needle hanging out of its arm

As time goes by I know it's gonna happen
I know it's going away
Gonna take its toll, gonna take its toll
Gonna take my time
And I'm thinking about the way things are
And I'm thinking about the way things were
Thinking about Eleanor Bron
And I'm thinking about a lucky charm
And I'm thinking about the needle
Oh, I'm thinking about the needle
And I'm thinking about...

I remember a summer's day
I remember walking up to you
I remember my face turned red
And I remember staring at my feet
I remember before we met
I remember sitting next to you
And I remember pretending I wasn't looking

So we'll try and try
Even if it lasts an hour
With all our might
We'll try and make it ours
Cause we're on our way
We're on our way to fall in love

I remember your old guitar
I remember I Can't Explain
I remember the way it looked around your neck
And I remember the day it broke
I remember song you sang
I remember the way you looked tonight
And I remember the way it made me feel

So we try and try
Even if it lasts an hour
With all our might
We'll try and make it ours
Because we're on our way
We're on our way to fall in love

Fred Astair has the best version of that song, letty. Huge weather disasters are with us long after the event in every case. Many Houston area folks are still trying to get their insurance companies to respond to their claims from Ike.
