1789 The Third Estate in France declared itself a national assembly and undertook to frame a constitution.

1856 The Republican Party opened its first convention, in Philadelphia.

Good morning, WA2K folks.

edgar, I liked your goodnight song. Ah, James and Luciano. I'm beginning to agree with those two. That movie trailer was a remake of War of the Worlds, but I'm with you. Probably won't see it 'cause Orson Welles was the one that made history with his version and once again proved what a rhino virus can do to those whose immune system has been too other worldly.

Welcome back Brit. Unfortunately, since we couldn't get your song to play even in Spanish, we have to wonder about how it compares to wet and wild you funny man. Ah, what a day for the ladies and Audrey. She was fantastic in that clip with only a few lapses. So our Brit climbed the stairs to the stars with Georgia on his mind. Great version of that one.

I echo edgar, LOL. Great one by Ella and Louis, but I'm not certain how easy the living will be here.

Thanks again, Texas, for those dates in history.

Today is Barry Manilow's birthday, and whatever some may think of him, he deserves a tribute.

Barry again. I don't like every single recording he made, but I do enjoy several of them.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I like the song I Write the Songs, too, and that Dixieland jazz song was awesome. Hmmm The Band Played On?

Casey would waltz with the strawberry blonde and the band played on.

Know that one, Texas?

Here is my favorite by Barry.

Holy roach! I found one in my bedroom. Where's Ticomaya?

Oh me too Letty - would have loved to been up there with him this weekend - it's going to be so fantastic - the weather is perfect, the company would have been perfect and the musicals would have just been the beez kneez. Hoping we will be up there within the next month - Tulip is coming here tomorrow so we're trying to get something sorted for July.

Let Myself Believe

<ok - so that's all a little depressing, mush mush mush, so swiftly moving on>

Here's one that Tulip played the other day - always makes me smile

altogether now... Na Na NaNa Na ... lalalaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllalallala <singing badly>

@Izzie,
Ah, we love to pull at our heartstrings, Iz. If you check out the cockroach song and photo, you'll come back to earth in a New York minute. (whatever that means)

Loved I Let Myself Believe by Barry, and The Life is Life "Opus" was spot on, gal.

Matt Monroe has something to say about it as well. (he's the Brit's favorite bus driver)

That's the song I expected to open up when I searched the title, letty. But the one I played was all right. I like that version of the cockroach.
Plus I like the other Barry songs you and izzy played.

I didn't know the Opus song, but I do know Somewhere, by Matt Monroe.
Got something here by The Band, from the album, Music From Big Pink.

@edgarblythe,
ahhhhhhhh... yep... In A New York Minute

appreciating the things you have... it does bring one back to earth

I just spoke to FQsis... K-bro PaPa was been rushed to the cardiac unit on Tues night and will be undergoing bypass surgery as soon as he is stable enough and they have a surgeon available - he was doing much better thisafternoon. Blech tho for FQ and K. K-bro will be driving down tomorrow to stay with his Mom for the weekend - so, keeping fingers and toots crossed and hoping for the best outcome and it's good to know he's in the best possible place as the cardiac unit there is fantastic. Always something to put other things into perspective. In a New York Minute is very apt.

Hugs to you both ((Letty and Edgar))

edit: ooooooooh Edgar, that Tears of Rage is tooo gooood... <sways>
