@edgarblythe,
Leonard Cohen never ceases to amaze me, edgar. That was the most beautiful tribute to Joan of Arc that I have ever heard. That man looks at religion from both sides.

dj had a thread going on someone (didn't know the man) who was inspired to write by Ray Bradberry. Anyone remember the Ray Bradberry theatre?

Here is the theme from it. I really love his Martian Chronicles.

I don't recall Ray Bradbury Theater, letty. If I had been aware, I would have checked it out.

@edgarblythe,
That was funny, edgar. Incidentally, neither can I. Loved it!

Speaking of "golden age" here's a tribute to a man of the golden age of cinema, folks.

Hey, Texas, check out Mars is Heaven sometimes. Ray wrote some scary ones that were aired on TV.

@Letty,
There is a very good chance I did read that story. I have read so many of his stories, I can't recall all the titles.

@Rockhead,
Don't know The Traveling Wilbury's, Rock, but I did recognize Ringo, Kansas. That was a tribute to John Lennon, right? I enjoyed it.

edgar, you're right about Douglas. Often the oldies are the goodies. My word, I just found out there is an Alan Ladd, Jr. Love to learn here.

Guess what they were playing in the background to that video tribute, y'all.

Another surprise!

Oops, now I remember Rock having played the twist by that group.

edgar, That rare footage of Bobby playing the guitar was great. The first part was very familiar to me. UhOh. Now that will be stuck in my head. It's some kind of Spanish guitar, methinks.

The interview with Dodd was great. He's looks like his dad. Had no idea that Bobby lived such a wild life. Didn't know that he did One of These Days either. Vaguely recall that by Kate Smith.

This jazz man lived a wild life as well, but he played great clarinet, y'all.

Today's his birthday.

@Izzie,
Izzie, That man is one awesome blues singer. Loved Bad Times, Good Friends. I don't know him, hun, but I did find some info on Corrina Corrina which Chicago Red also sang.

"Corrine, Corrina" is a 12 bar country blues song in the AAB form. "Corrine, Corrina" was first recorded by Bo Chatmon and the Mississippi Sheiks (Brunswick 7080, December 1928. However, it was not copyrighted until 1932 by Chatmon and his publishers, Mitchell Parish and J. Mayo Williams. The song is familiar for its opening verse:
Corrine, Corrina, where you been so long?
Corrine, Corrina, where you been so long?
I ain't had no lovin', since you've been gone.
The Mississippi Sheiks, as the Jackson Blue Boys with Papa Charlie McCoy on vocals, also recorded the same song on the same day for another recording studio; this time as "Sweet Alberta" (Columbia 14397-D), substituting the words Sweet Alberta for Corrine, Corrina.
"Corrine, Corrina" has become a standard in a number of musical styles, including blues, rock and roll, Cajun, and Western swing.
The title of the song varies from recording to recording; chiefly with the variant "Corrina, Corrina".

Here's a version done by a guy with Whoppi

Not as good as Chicago Red, however
