@edgarblythe,
Know most of those events in history, edgar. Just don't know the dates. Thanks, buddy.

Never heard that one by The Fab Four. Rubber Soul? Sorta reminds me of The Morning Sun is Shinning Like a Red Rubber Ball. Not particularly fond of the simile, however. The song and melody was good.

How about a little Francais, folks. I notice that Bonaparte is there and Les Miserables.

The musical of Les Miserables was very successful. I never was much interested in certain books being made musical, because I always did love the originals. Three that come to mind are this one, Oliver Twist and A Christmas Carol.
Well, I have been listening to Elvis as I drive about this week.

@edgarblythe,
Don't know that one by "The King", edgar, but it was great. I keep forgetting how sad his life must have been.

Today is George Strait's birthday, so here is a tribute to the man.

Incidentally, Texas, I put Evangeline on your Songs That Tell Stories. Glad it was in French, because it always made me cry

George Strait - In my mind he is relatively new, but he has actually been making music a lot of years. I will check out Evangeline, letty. I was fond of it long ago, but have not revisited in quite some time. 'This is the forest primeval' rivals 'By the shores of gitche gumee for recognition factor.'

@edgarblythe,
Hope so, Texas. Didn't know that Mario did that one. I always think of my mom and how she loved Nelson Eddy's version.

Time for me to say goodnight, and this is for those of you who SEE with your heart.

Man breaks 'ferret-legging' record
Tuesday, May 18 2010, 14:15 BST

A retired headteacher has set a new world record by keeping a ferret down his trousers for 5 hours and 30 minutes.

Frank Bartlett, 67, beat the previous record of 5 hours 26 minutes at a fundraising event in Whittington, Staffordshire on Sunday.

Fellow villager Christine Farnsworth joined Bartlett in his efforts and achieved an identical time.

Putting ferrets down trousers as an endurance test is known as "ferret-legging". Barlett's decision to resurrect the unusual sport had previously drawn criticism from the National Ferret School, which argued that Sunday's event would cause the animals unnecessary stress and discomfort.

However, Bartlett had dismissed the accusations by insisting that the ferrets would be placed in baggy trousers and "would probably go to sleep" during the challenge.

The ferret-legging day ultimately raised over £1,000 for the Whittington Community First Responders group.

Good moring America and good afternoon, Europe.

edgar, love your goodnight song. Ah, Marty and Hank. Two great musicians.

Hey, Brit. That interesting accomplishment gives new meaning to the expression "ferret out". In this case it was "ferret in".

cute little fellers, ain't they.

Won't Get Fooled Again by Pete was great and Jeff Beck's Over the Rainbow was a different version of that lovely song.

I saw Blood Diamond with Leonardo, and it was a good movie. Loved that African music.

Welcome back, Francis. You probably know how I read that song title. I thought to myself, my martini? Then I found out that was the vocalist's name. Thanks for the introduction, although her life appeared to be a sad one.

More synchronicity, y'all. Today is Kyle Eastwood's birthday. I'll Close my Eyes from his dad's movie and now we listen to Kyle do some jazz. Blue Paris is timely, no?

@edgarblythe,
Kyle Eastwood was a surprise to me as well, edgar. He looks exactly like his father. Hurry back, buddy.

Today is Grace Jones' birthday. What a woman.

First a tribute to her, then her role in Conan the Destroyer. (where's Ticomaya; he voted against the no smoking ban in California state parks)
