I always forget who is Grace Jones, until I see her picture. I generally think of San Francisco's psychedelic rock bands, initially.
Don't recall that I watched any Conan films.
Got some Bobby Blue Bland right chere

@edgarblythe,
Never heard Bobby Blue Bland, edgar, but I loved that song Turn on your Love Light. Thanks, Texas.

Thinking about Greece today and all the financial woes. We know, of course, poverty breeds crime, and I saw where two guys stole two valuable works of art.

Police in southern Greece have seized a rare twin pair of 2,500-year-old marble statues and arrested two farmers who allegedly planned to sell them abroad for euro10 million ($12.43 million), authorities said Tuesday.

Police said two Greeks aged 42 and 48 were arrested in the Peloponnese area late Friday as they were loading the illegally excavated figures of young men into a truck. Authorities are seeking a third man suspected of belonging to a smuggling gang that planned to spirit the 6th century B.C. works out of the country.

I hope Ellinas is all right. We miss him.

Love this music.

Time for a little Chest Fever by The Band (The picture in the video is a Bob Dylan composition that appeared on the cover of the album, Music From Big Pink).

@edgarblythe,
Chest Fever by The Band was wonderful, edgar, and I particularly like the Dylan art. Amazing man, "The Jester".

Old Turkey Buzzard by that Oriental guy was awesome and immediately sent me searching.

Here it is in English with a brief narration, y'all.

@edgarblythe,
Love Guy Mitchell, edgar. Never heard Hannah Lee, but glad that it was she and not Guy who was hanged.

I was trying to recall the first 3-D movie that I saw. Didn't know the origin went so far back. I guess it was The House of Wax.

Here's another song that tells a story, Texas. Barbara Allen was first mentioned in Pepys' diary. (pronounced "Peeps")

My first 3D experience was The Creature From the Black Lagoon. A long boring film with very few 3D highlights to marvel over.
Garfunkle has a remarkable voice.
Mac Davis sings good, but not that good -

Mooseman, that Keep a Lid on It by Squirrel Nut Zippers was great. Found out that the name of the group referred to moonshine. Love retro music, Kansas

edgar, Mac Davis doing I Believe in Music was all right. Love the song, buddy.

What a surprise to find out that The Fab Four did Kansas City. More retro, y'all.

Here they are with a couple of oldies.

Hoorah! The squirrel is back. Must have been the Mooseman's Squirrel Nut Zippers that did it.

Just found out that Kansas City is now the state song of Kansas City.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with Nat. This was inspired by an AMC movie by the same name.

Put a lid on it, Letty.

@Letty,
Hello Miss Letty!!!

I can't play or see music just yet on my new computer setup. We're still working through the kinks.

I hope you're doing well.

That's one of my favorite Nat songs, letty.
A guy I used to work with was at one time a ballroom dance instructor. He said they had a lot of fun with Kansas City, because the beat was so perfect for what they were doing. I'm no dancer, but I can see how that could be.

Good morning, Miss Squirrel. Hope you get the kinks out of your pc soon. Never liked that vocal group. I'm all right, Chicago. Have to be.

edgar, I loved that one hit wonder Little Bitty Pretty One, and as for tar balls, I thought for a moment that you meant Ida Tarbell. She was a muckracker. Love it!

More thefts, y'all.

PARIS " Police say five paintings including masterpieces by Picasso and Matisse have been stolen from a Paris museum.
A Paris police official says the paintings were reported missing early Thursday at the Paris Museum of Modern Art. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the preliminary investigation is still under way.
The official said the paintings were by Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, George Braque, Amedeo Modigliani and Fernand Leger.
Police and investigators have cordoned off the museum, across the Seine River from the Eiffel Tower.
A woman who answered the phone at the museum said questions about the theft would only be answered by the office of Paris mayor Bertrand Delanoe.

Modigliani was not one of my preferred artists, but his life was a troubled one.

Two songs for the morning. First, two birthday boys.

James Stewart - another icon of a great era. I like so many of his films - Right now I am thinking of the one in which he plays a scientist who believes stress will cause an airplane's wings to bust off.

Joe Cocker - Really like him too.

Here's a song about a Crawfish

Where's your cape, edgar? You just saved the day.

Hmmm. Love that song by Elvis and Kitty. Never heard it before. That woman is great!

Here's Jerry Lee singing about a crawdad. Don't think there's a difference.

After that, we'll honor Cher on her birthday.

Hmmm. Guess JPB has the kinks out of her pc and we found em.
