@edgarblythe,
Laughing, edgar. Don't blame you for wanting to go to Tahiti and see them belly dancers.

Time for me to say goodnight, and inspired by DrewDad, I remember this one that my mom sang to me as a lullaby.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoFQgR4vstQ&feature=related

Here are one set of the lyrics, but her's were different

There's a low green valley on the old Kentucky shore
There I whiled many happy hours away
A sitting and a singing by the little cottage door
Where lived my darling Nelly Gray

Chorus
Oh my poor Nelly Gray, they have taken you away
And I'll never see my darling any more
I am sitting by the river and I'm weeping all the day
For you've gone from the old Kentucky shore

When the moon had climbed the mountain and the stars were shining too
Then I'd take my darling Nelly Gray
And we'd float down the river in my little red canoe
While my banjo sweetly I would play

One night I went to see her but she's gone, the neighbors say
The white man bound her with his chain
They have taken her to Georgia for to wear her life away
As she toils in the cotton and the cane

My canoe is underwater and my banjo is unstrung
I'm tired of living any more
My eyes shall look downward and my songs shall be unsung
While I stay on the old Kentucky shore

My eyes are getting blinded and I cannot see my way
Hark, there's somebody knocking at the door
Oh, I hear the angels calling and I see my Nelly Gray
Farewell to the old Kentucky shore

Chorus, last
Oh my darling Nelly Gray, up in heaven, there they say
That they'll never take you from me anymore
I'm a-coming, coming, coming, as the angels clear the way
Farewell to the old Kentucky shore

Goodnight world,

From Letty with love

Hey, Brit. thanks for the reminder that Alan Shepherd was the first man in space and the first man on the moon.

Loved your song, Rocket to the Moon. Spent some time trying to ascertain the difference between the Scots and the Celts. There are differing opinions, but we'll dedicate your song to McTag.

edgar, I'm with you. The early days of NASA were exciting until the Challenger disaster.

Well, folks, today is Tchaikovsky's birthday, so here is a tribute to the Russian.

Oops, missed Allison, Brit. Will listen and watch later

@Barry The Mod,
hey, Brit and edgar. First allow me to say that I loved both of Texas' goodnight songs. All Through the Night is lovely, and I think you already know that I love Little Richard's Baby Face.

Brit, Loved Allison Krauss and Union Station doing Choctaw Hayride. She played that fiddle in O Brother Where Art Thou as well.

Another tribute, y'all. Today is Gary Cooper's birthday.

He and Hemingway were friends.

@Barry The Mod,
Oops is right, Brit. "to err is human; to forgive divine".
Enjoyed Jupiter, and it inspired me to do another type of Meadowland. (not the Russian one)

What did Jupiter see in Juno? You know.

Nice to see Tchaikovsky's still got it. I'm a lifelong Gary Cooper fan. Right now, I keep recalling Sgt York.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I missed Sophie Hawkins' "...prayer song...". Oh, how frightened I would get when someone would say the prayer:

Now I lay me down to sleep I pray the Lord my soul to keep
If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take.

All I heard was FASHIDIE; it was like some monster.

Thank goodness some caring mother said it as, "...guide me safely through the night
Wake me with the morning light.

Texas, thanks again for your comments on the music we play on WA2K.

Well, I went to the archives, and found this trailer, y'all.

@urs53,
Urs, Welcome back once again. Alphaville's Forever Young was great. That song could be for you and your Swede. Thanks, gal. I'm still "young at heart", and I have high hopes.
