edgar, that version of Old McDonald by Spike was funny. Thanks for the smile.

Izzie, dear. Welcome back, and I really enjoyed Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars. The idea of lying there with someone you love, and forgetting the world is a great idea.

Love Robbie, of course, and Something Beautiful was marvelous.

Time for another smile. Don't donkeys say Hee Haw?

Love Roy Clark, and since today is his birthday, here he is with Bobby Thompson, y'all.

@Izzie,
Dear, dear, Izzie. You sent me to the archives again. I had forgotten It's a Wonderful Life. Yes, Clarence set Jimmy straight about making the right choices. What an angel, gal.

Going to say goodnight a little early tonight. First another Animal.

Now, y'all, two songs that I love.

Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven.

and, inspired by our Izzie, a tribute to Jimmy Stewart.

as always,

I admire Roy Clark's music. The sonata and Jimmy Stewart videos were good. I've always been a big fan of Jimmy's. Hi, izzy. I like your music too. Time to say good night, as soon as I post one more song.

Hey, WA2K radio folks.

edgar, I was stunned to hear those songs by John Denver. Wow, Texas. Don't think I knew a one of them. Love it when that happens.

Izzie, Amazing that Barry White did the same one that Billy Joel did. I love the idea behind that song. Thanks, hun.

Hey, Brit. I love Dusty Springfield as well, and Going Back was lovely.

I never cared for My Favorite Things, but that version by Brad Mehldau transformed it into a "...a thing of beauty..". Thanks for the introduction by a fabulous pianist. (yep, you need to use those beautiful hands for playing the keyboard)

Today is one of my favorite birthday boys, y'all. Always have loved jazz flute, etc.

Herbie Mann..

@edgarblythe,
"..it's love's illusion I recall..." Love that line from "Both Sides Now", edgar.

A tribute to one of my favorite actors whose birthday is today, y'all.

I was amazed at his background. WOW!

For anyone who may be interested.

@edgarblythe,
Sophie is great, edgar. Lose Your Way was calming somehow. My word, someone told me that the raggedy jeans were back in style, and I just saw that lovely lady sporting some. Well, the more we move ahead, the more retro we become. Same with the classic movies such as TCM, etc.Watched Johnny Depp in The Ninth Gate. Too predictable and not very earth shaking.

Today is Henry Mancini's birthday, so here is a tribute to him. Hmmm, Cancun. Just saw where Mexico is being taken over by the drug cartel and telling people to move or suffer the consequences.

Don't like to mention it, but today is the anniversary of the horrible massacre at Va. Tech. Worse in history I am given to understand.

I've been a Mancini fan ever since he did the music for Peter Gunn, the detective show.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, that was pure and simple jazz from Peter Gunn. Loved the flute, as usual. Thanks for that, buddy.

Today is Charlie Chaplin's birthday, so first we'll show him receiving an award, then Robert Downey Jr.'s portrayal of the "little tramp"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3Pl-qvA1X8&feature=related

Now Robert, folks.

I have a VHS tape of The Little Tramp. A very elderly woman from the apartments had been speaking fondly of Chaplin and other silent stars. I lent her the film. You would not believe how grateful she was and how she raved to me the next day. I felt that for the times it was a wonderful film, also. But I turned off that maddening piano soundtrack and listened from my record collection. Much more pleasant.
