To Build A Home-The Cinematic Orchestra.

There is a house built out of stone
Wooden floors, walls and window sills...
Tables and chairs worn by all of the dust...
This is a place where I don't feel alone
This is a place where I feel at home...

Cause, I built a home
for you
for me

Until it disappeared
from me
from you

And now, it's time to leave and turn to dust...

Out in the garden where we planted the seeds
There is a tree as old as me
Branches were sewn by the color of green
Ground had arose and passed it's knees

By the cracks of the skin I climbed to the top
I climbed the tree to see the world
When the gusts came around to blow me down
I held on as tightly as you held onto me
I held on as tightly as you held onto me......

Cause, I built a home
for you
for me

Until it disappeared
from me
from you

And now, it's time to leave and turn to dust........

Good moring, WA2K folks

edgar, Loved Dinah's The Bitter Earth and Where Are You. Didn't realize that it was an allusion to Ira Hayes.

Always great hearing Fats Domino, Texas. Isn't his birthday today?

Ah, our Brit's wooshed again.

To Build a Home was lovely, London, but I think my favorite was The Book of Love.

Carly looks pretty good, and Let the River Run was great. Thanks also for Erroll and Play Misty for Me. Hmmm, I believe Clint Eastwood starred in a scary movie about that song. Yikes!

Two songs for the morning, y'all.

First, since it's Victor Hugo's birthday, one from Les Miserables.

It is also Michael Bolton's natal day, so here is one that is a bit puzzling.

I don't know the history of the song, but, in the film, Ira was in a bar getting drunk to it.

@edgarblythe,
I didn't know that it was played while the American Indian was getting drunk.

He is one of these four which was staged, edgar.

@Rockhead,
Welcome back to you as well, Rockymoose. Yes, "...What if.." A grim reminder, Kansas. We should always remember.

Another interesting reminder, y'all. This was Peter Sellers last film.

@edgarblythe,
and a big THANKS to you, edgar for listening to the music and responding so graciously.

Never heard Shelby Flints's Angel on My Shoulder, but it was lovely, Texas.

I was amazed at the sound track from Peter Seller's last film Being There. What a variety, but this one is particularly memorable.

For nearly 40 years fans and music buffs have been trying to guess who the subject of songstress Carly Simon's hit "You're So Vain" REALLY was. WONDER NO MORE!

Carly herself has finally put the guessing game to rest.

Nope, it's none of the usual suspects of Carly's former ex-lovers - not Mick Jagger, Kris Kristofferson, Cat Stevens nor lothario superstar Warren Beatty.

The 1970s superstar has finally revealed it was openly gay producer David Geffen!

On a reworking of the song due on a new LP Never Been Gone, Carly, 64 wrote finis to the ongoing enigma by whispering Geffen's name backwards.

Back in 1972 when Carly was signed to Elektra Records, the billionaire mogul was her boss.

It is believed by insiders that Carly damned him to pop HERstory because Geffen backed folksy Joni Mitchell over her.

Carly had steadfastly maintained over the years that her "Vain" object of scorn was a "composite" of men she had known.

I did not see Peter's last film, but the music, such as that last Beethoven is very nice.

@edgarblythe,
I didn't see it either, edgar. The kid from Georgia told me about it.

What a revelation about Carly! It was rumoured that she was gay as well.

Love that tribute to Phil Ochs by Allison Crowe, Texas, and speaking of gone, how about a parody on William "Buffalo Bill" Cody's Wild West Show. If any of you kids are lurking in the background, cover your eyes.

Today's his birthday, y'all
