Wow! Broderick Crawford. I had forgotten him, edgar. That may have been the one that I saw as well.

Ah, Little Hiawatha. You sent me to the archives again and I recall Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's "Song of Hiawatha". Thanks for the memory jog.

Hey Brit. Love that one by the who. Nope, no football for me either.

A couple of songs. First Born to be Wild by Steppenwolf(stumbled across it as a result of edgar's Iroquois Indian friend)

Now, inspired by Barry the Brit, another Who song.

@Barry The Mod,
Well, time for Letty to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs. Thanks, Brit, for the update.

First, The WHO original, y'all.

Now, The Morning After.

Here is Leonard Cohen, people.

I recall the Who from way back. And Maureen McGovern did an excellent job on Morning After.

@edgarblythe,
Good morning, WA2K radio folks and edgar.

That one by Leonard was fantastic. Was the old revolution about the Romanov's? Best I ever heard him sing, and the lyrics were breathtaking.

At the End of the Rainbow by Roy Hamilton was great. Wow! what great entonation.

Dear Bobby Darin. Happy made me feel "less miserable" this early morning. Razz

Well, folks, Endeavor had a successful lift off today, but all I heard was the sound which was as though the ocean had swallowed the shore. A bit of foam broke off, but nothing serious it seems.

Two songs for the breaking of day. First a salute to Jules Verne whose birthday is today.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOKZzaTyeZY

Listening to the Endeavor, made me realize that often science isn't fiction.

and, from Les Miserables.

Now I have a good excuse to play this one by Ricky Nelson.

Janis Ian

I am a fan of Jules Verne. And Ricky was really good on I Will Follow You.

Pretty good music from Les Miserables. I never have seen it on film, although the non musical version by Charles Laughton is a favorite of mine.

@Tai Chi,
Tai Chi, welcome back. I was researching again, and I believe that I saw a made for TV movie with Anthony Perkins as the bad guy who was out to get Jean ValJean.

Liked that one by Janis Ian, but have never heard her do "Crocodile".

Here's one to match by Sir Elton, gal.

@edgarblythe,
My word, edgar. What an unlikely foursome. Loved it, Texas.

How about a little Lady Day. Love this one by her.

In 1964 I bought an album titled Here's Lena Now. It began selling very well, but the title song was censored off the radio. The youtube video is the first time I have seen the album any place outside my collection.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! Lena is still with us, Texas. Hmmmm. Didn't she do the Hora in the first one:?

Really loved Meantime, Silent Spring and Lost in the Stars.

Didn't she do Happiness is Just a Thing Called Jo?

Well, time for me to say goodnight and I think I shall do so with another great jazz man.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNJRLinVXgs

and here are the lyrics.

Waking skies at sunrise,
every sunset, too,
seems to be bringing me
memories of you.

Here and there, everywhere,
scenes that we once knew.
And they all just recall
memories of you.

How I wish I could forget
those happy yesteryears
that have left
a rosary of tears.

Your face beams in my dreams
spite of all I do.
Everything seems to bring
memories of you.
Those memories of you.

As always, in spite of everything,

From Letty with love and a memory
