Nice to see you back, Alex.

edgar, that was a great one by The Coasters. Down in Mexico was great, Texas.

Time for me to say goodnight, and although many may think I over-do this one, I just love it.

Here is a new version, y'all.

Well, Serenade is a great song, letty. I did have it on a 45 EP vinyl by Mario, but it's long gone.

I came across this band on TV, they are from Austria. In the first clip they look very cool, the second clip looks more Austrian.

Good morning, WA2K folks

edgar, That "Fats" song remined me of the "bole weevil". Is that what he was singing about?

Urs, welcome back. Loved your Global Kryner songs, expecially Saying Something Stupid like I Love you. Strange, I would not be able to recognize them as Austrian. Thanks, gal.

Watched Medium on TV last evening, and it was very confusing. Here is one that I recognized by The Turtles and there was another by Billy Holiday, but can't recall the song.

And, y'all, since it's Dave Matthews' birthday, here is one by him.

My word, They're they are predicting snow in some parts of Florida.

Good morning. Turtles and Dave Mathews - Good way to start out. Fats has his own way of doing that song, but it at least derives from the Boll Weevil song.

A new one from Glass Poets

It got to 18 degreees last night. Fortunately, it's dry out there. I didn't cover any plants. If they can't take it, I will plant something else.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I have never heard Glass Poets, but I love their name and music. Thanks, Texas.

Today is Jimmy Page's birthday and he used to be with The Yardbirds. (No birds in my front yard or back yard either. Too cold for them I guess.) He founded Led Zepplin so here is a quartet playing Stairway to Heaven.

@Letty,
Stairway is one of the songs on Pat Boone's notorious flirting with evil music album, letty. Razz

@edgarblythe,
You mean "No more Mister Nice Guy"? Razz

Well, edgar, I was totally surprised to find out that he sang this one from the Ingrid Bergman and Yul Brynner movie by the same name

I have Anastasia and most of Pat's best recordings on vinyl, letty. The only songs he does that I don't like are the covers of certain rhythm and blues songs, such as Ain't That a Shame.

@edgarblythe,
Never heard Pat do that one, edgar. Well, you and our listeners will recognize this lady, and today is her birthday.

Joan doing one of my favorites. Thanks letty. This next song is not a great one. What makes it interesting is, the pianist is Charlie Rich, not the vocalist.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! I like that one by Jerry Lee, edgar. I'm always confusing Charlie Rich and Charlie Pride. Your Charlie is the one that did Behind Closed doors, right?

Today is A.J. McClean's birthday, and although I don't know him, I just found out that Backstreet Boys are from Orlando, Florida.

Here's one by them, y'all.

@edgarblythe,
Well, edgar, you sent me to the archives again. There was a movie about Loretta.

Mary Elizabeth "Sissy" Spacek (born December 25, 1949) is an American actress and singer. Her screen debut was in the 1972 film Prime Cut co-starring Lee Marvin and Gene Hackman.

In the 1970s, she began starring in critically-acclaimed films directed by Terrence Malick, Brian de Palma and Robert Altman. Her performance as the title character in de Palma's 1976 horror film Carrie made her famous. She is one of the very few actresses ever nominated for an Academy Award for her performance in a horror film (Carrie).

In 1980, she won the Best Actress Oscar for her role as country star Loretta Lynn in Coal Miner's Daughter. She has been nominated a total of 6 times. Spacek is known mainly as a dramatic actress, but has also made comedies. The films Spacek has starred in have earned over $700 million world

Patsy Cline was also in that movie so I'm saying goodnight with two songs.

First Patsy. (what a surprise to find that she did South of the Border)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4f0P_NBhuo&feature=related

Now, inspired by Tai Chi's ringtail Coati, which is a member of the raccoon family....

One by the Beatles.

I'm like mismi. My blood doesn't fair well in cold weather.

I know and love those Patsy and Beatles songs, letty.
Confidentially, I think every country singer and at least a quarter of fifties pop artists recorded South of the Border.
