edgar, I agree with JPB. When a Soldier Makes it Home was awesome. From Woodie to Arlo to Abe. Thanks, buddy.

I'm assuming your reference was to the Cuba Gooding, Jr. tribute. Hope so, Texas.

The Promise by When in Rome (do as the Romans) was really touching. Thanks for the introduction.

Another birthday girl, y'all. Don't think many of us will forget Tia.

Amazing how many have done this song, so, once again we'll dedicate it to sglass and Andrew and the yitwails.

That was lovely, letty. Best version of the song I've heard at least recently.

Dreams Come True, so I have heard.

That's not too surprising. He included an Everly Brothers song on his very first album The song was Highway 51. Later, on Self Portrait album, he recorded their Take a Message to Mary.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for the Dylan info, Texas, and Buffy Sainte Marie's Piney Wood Hills was great. I recall her having gone up Cripple Creek.

Glad that my daughter arrived home safely, and we smiled about Three Dog Night, 'cause when my godchild left she took her three dogs with her, and it is cold here.

Couldn't believe that when they were going to catch her flight, they saw that a teenage kid had drowned in the Atlantic. I've heard of polar bear clubs, but that was just too much.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I'll do so with this classic by those three dogs.

@edgarblythe,
Good morning, WA2K folks and edgar. Ah, Little Miss Dynamite. Thanks for the Brenda Lee song.

Today is Stephen Sills' birthday, so let's hear one by him and the other two members of his group.

@Letty,
Good morning, Miss L and WA2K

One of my all-time favorite songs was a CSN song.

I like that group, letty. Yesterday, I watched Tom Cruise in Born on the Fourth of July. Been moody ever since. Makes me want to hear this by Donovan.

Miss squirrel, that is one of my favorites by CS&N as well. Yep, teach the children is difficult but rewarding when it works. Hey, where's the mooseman?

edgar, loved that one by Donovan. What a great title, Texas. Ballad of a Crystal Man. He said it right, Texax,

Today is Victor Borge's birthday, and I love that "Great Dane", here is a tribute to him by two piano men repeating his comic performance. Love it!

@edgarblythe,
Ah, Judy Collins. Love that one, Texas. Thanks.

Here's a deja vu song, folks. So long ago, I wrote a poem about this, and I had no idea where I got the idea. I think I said it was inspired by To Kill a Mocking Bird, but now I'm not certain.

edgar, I was just reading your swimming (or not swimming) thread. Interesting that you chose the navy for military service.

As I said in the thread, I did not fancy sleeping in a hole in the ground. Laughing

JPB you and edgar are making me smile. Love it!

I swear, I never heard Mac Davis before, y'all, but I really like Stop and Smell the Roses.

Today is Mel Gibson's birthday, and although he has made many turn-arounds I still like the man.
