The Platters

Those acapella singers are pretty good.

edgar, I did some research on Roberta from which cometh that song. 1932? Shocked Love that version by the Platters, however. Thanks, Texas.

Izzie, Welcome back. Glad to see that you are not hibernating. That song Patience by Take That is great, gal. Thanks, Britess.

Inspired by "...when a lovely flame dies; smoke gets in your eye.." I found this one by Peggy Lee. Doesn't sound a bit like the Peggy that I recall, y'all.

Well, edgar. I certainly know that one and you sent me on another trip to the archives.

Here's one by George Shearing and Miss Lee.

@Rockhead,
Ah, Mooseman, I knew that you'd be Bach. Love that one, and YoYo Ma is one of my favorite celloist. Wonderful buddy, and thanks.

HEY, EDGAR. I love It's Magic by Joel McCrae, and I just remembered Shirley Jones. She and Gordon did Surrey with the Fringe on top.

Good morning, WA2K audience.

JPB, I had never heard them before either. More serendipity, and I love that one by the group. Recognized most of the theme songs from various TV shows. Thanks again, Chicago.

A Morning song to begin the very chilly day here, y'all.

Incidentally, Rocky, that should have been "cellist" not "celloist. My mistake, Kansas.

@Rockhead,
Hey, Mooseman. I loved that "winter calling" by The Steve Miller band. Listened twice, buddy. Thanks for the ice being just a memory, however.

Incidentally, I'm practicing correcting my own mistakes because it improves my lack of spelling skills.

I don't know this guy, y'all, but he is great, and today is his birthday. Maybe a little "fire dance" will warm us up.

@edgarblythe,
I can listen to Harry sing Christmas music over and over, Texas. Glad you are back with us, and I love What Child is This.

I was looking for birthday folks, and ran across this tribute to a lot of hollywood stars of yesterday.

Don't forget to listen to Leon Lai. He was fantastic, y'all.

@Dutchy,
That was fabulous, Dutchy. I love seeing trees all lit up and sparkling. Thanks for the Amazing Grace song, too. Great to see you back with us.

How about a couple from where you were then, to where you are now.

First from The Netherlands.

Now an Australian Christmas from you to us.

Those were good Christmas songs, letty. I watched the 'fire' video earlier. Dutcy's link would not open for me. The tribute to the stars makes me think of when I was young.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, when I was young was great and reminds me of when I way young and it was getting near Christmas. I was in my mom's bedroom and spotted a new box atop the wardrobe. Nothing would do, but for me to try and climb up that thing and take a peek in the box. It was a set of blue willow doll dishes. What a thrill.

Then I heard Mamma coming and I quickly climbed down again. Mamma looked a me with a frown and said that Santa Claus had left those in her keeping because his sack was too full. He just might take them back Christmas Eve, if he knew what I had done.

Believe me, y'all, I was NOT naughty but nice the rest of the month.

Here's a montage of Christmas songs. See if you agree with the choice.

That's not the same list I would make. But, it's subjective. I did not know six of those songs and did not care much for five out of the remaining fourteen.
Here is a nice Christmas song.
