@edgarblythe,
Glad your plumbing worries are over, edgar. I had a problem myself this morning. Someone or something broke in my front door. The chain lock was barely clinging to the side and the door was unlocked. Fixed both, however, but it still has me on edge.

Love Brook Benton, but I remember him best for A Rainy Night in Georgia.

Here's a birthday girl that you may remember, especially since she was a famous mermaid. (no, not Anne Blythe)

Time for me to say goodnight, and inspired by Brook who also sang this one, I think I shall do so with old blue eyes, y'all.

@Letty,
Hmmm. Letty is talking to herself again. I would hang my tears out to dry but it's really raining here, so Guess I'll have to let Diana K. do it for me.

Happy that my daughter is ok as well

I only knew that song by Elton, letty.

We got snow today. It's almost gone. I don't think this song is about the same snow. In fact, I don't really know what it means.

@edgarblythe,
Hmmm. I don't know what it means either, edgar. Red Hot Chili Peppers does it well.

Actually, Texas, I didn't like that version of Moulin Rouge either. This version was much better.

Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec frequently visits the Moulin Rouge, where he drinks cognac and draws sketches of the dancers and singers. Though the son of a French count, Henri's legs were badly deformed by a childhood fall, and his personal life is often unhappy as a result. While he is going home one night, a spirited young woman of the streets, Marie, asks him for help. He falls in love with her, and the two become involved in a tumultuous relationship. It becomes increasingly difficult for Toulouse-Lautrec to balance his personal feelings, his artistic abilities, and his family name and position

Jose Ferrer and Zsa Zsa Gabor were far better.

How about a snow man, Texas.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! that was awesome, edgar. An acoustic guitar playing a poem. (that was Nat; I searched it out)

Yes, snow can be such fun when it's safe snow.

"Announced by all the trumpets of the sky,
Arrives the snow, and, driving o'er the fields,
Seems nowhere to alight: the whited air
Hides hills and woods, the river and the heaven,
And veils the farm-house at the garden's end.
The sled and traveller stopped, the courier's feet
Delayed, all friends shut out, the housemates sit
Around the radiant fireplace, enclosed
In a tumultuous privacy of Storm."
Emerson,The Snow Storm.

Then there is Conrad Aiken's "Silent Snow; Secret Snow. Yikes.

Just a brief op. ed.

I really don't think that people should start threads that malign other members unless it's in fun.

That was beautiful, edgar.

We had our first dusting of snow overnight. It's already melted.

@JPB,
HA! Found this on his website

Quote:
James is male. 23 years old from Bettendorf, Iowa. Graduated from the University of Iowa with a BSc in Physics.

Currently James is enrolled in the Masters program at the University of Iowa working on L1 Trigger upgrades for the CMS detector at CERN.

James likes to play music and is an accomplished percussionist, pianist, and guitarist. And he once played the violin, until his sister needed a new flute, so the violin was sold to buy a new flute. But he is not bitter.

I was just telling Missi in a PM that I've "graduated" onto my second song in piano 101. It's another Beetles ballad. I tend to like the ballads... it's beautiful on piano.
