This has been a wonderful evening, y'all. Loved that Irish blessing by the group that Izzie played. "may the wind be ever at your back." I think that lovely lady is remembering my first visit to Virginia. The second was delightful.

Like edgar, I love all of those Beatles songs. Thanks, JPB and panz. The Knickerbockers (hope I got that right) were unusual and I liked it. It's always nice to have a mix on our cyber radio station.

edgar, Wow! Whatever Lola Wants was from Damn Yankees, methinks, and it was one of my favs.

How about a little Joy to the World, folks.

Hope our Brit makes an appearance.

Back later with my goodnight song.

Joy to the World was an enormous hit where I lived, letty. Good song, written by Hoyt Axton. Thanks for another Beatles song.

Saying good night with Harry Belafonte. This song is from the first RCA Victor album to top a million in sales.

Good morning, WA2K folks.

edgar, I love that song by Harry. "will his love be like his rum?" What a delight, Texas, and I think I recognized most of the famous folks in the visuals.

I have never heard Liam Clancy, but that song, "Will You go, Lassie Go" was truly beautiful. What a wonderful legacy he left to the world.

Today is Jim Messina's birthday, so let's hear one by him and his partner, y'all.

Ah, those visuals remind me of Virginia.

@Letty,
Happy Saturday, Miss L.

I Love, Love, Love Jim Messina. More so with Poco than with Kenny Loggins but there are no JM songs that I don't like.

I've always loved the message in this one

I like those two songs that featured Messina. And I am a fan of Little Richard. That's a funny clip of him, letty.

@edgarblythe,
Tony did rather well with his "unplugged" stuff, edgar. Haven't heard that one by him, but I was stunned to discover that Hank Williams wrote it. Wow!

Here's one by Hank that I really love. ("I'm so lonesome I could Cry" is still my favorite) What a poet, y'all.

Homer and Jethro did a great parody on that one.

You fooled me by playing Settin The Woods on Fire, letty.
I'm still on a Brook Benton kick. I've been playing a CD by him back and forth to work.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! Love that one by Brook, edgar, and I can see why I would fool you, Texas, cause everyone did Hank's songs. Brook did this one and, GUESS WHO.

sorry, Tony, I like Hank's better

I never liked Tony's version of Cold Cold Heart. He fails to capture the spirit of the song. Jerry Lee Lewis has a version of it that I like.

Absolutely, edgar.

How about a little fun today, folks. It's George Armstrong Custer's birthday.

Yep Larry Verne had a whole album of songs like that. It's a sign of changing times to first watch Erroll Flynne play Custer in They Died With Their Boots On and then the Dustin Hoffman epic, Little Big Man.

@edgarblythe,
I like that minor key in which Dolly sings for the little sparrow, edgar. Thanks, buddy.

Speaking of sparrows, y'all, here are a couple of them.

Edith Piaf was given the name La Mome Piaf (the little sparrow) because she was only 4'7". What a tragic life she had.

Now for a gospel sparrow. This is the melody with which I am the most familiar
