@edgarblythe,
Ah, Willie Mays. Thanks, edgar.

Here are tributes to a couple of legends other than John, y'all.

First, The Pride of the Yankees.

and now, since today is Boris Karloff's birthday.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, edgar. I love Boxcar Willie. "Rollin' in My Sweet Baby's Arms" is a favorite of mine. He did a great job on those train songs. Thanks, buddy.

I had to smile at your suggestion of Lou and Boris doing a rap together, Texas.

I remember your having told me that I Will Always Love You by Dolly was a tribute to Porter Wagoner.

Here's one by Jerry Reed on that same show, folks.

@edgarblythe,
Love that group, edgar. Companions of song and Edith Piaf. What a shocker to find out that the The Three Bells was originally a French song done by the little sparrow.

Time for me to say good night, and I shall do so with two songs, folks.

First The Three Bells as done by Ray, then a great song by Jimmy Wakely.

I've played this one before, but I cannot get over how delightful he sounds. I have never seen a movie nor heard of him prior to this one.

I remember Jimmy Wakely from childhood. Always liked him, but did not hear him as much as lots of other artists. And Ray Charles puts his own mark on a good song.

Here is a good folk standard by Waylon.

Good moring, WA2K folks. I'll be off to Virginia today for another memorial to my son at the family cemetery and a wonderful feast as well. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving whether you landed on Plymouth Rock or not. Razz

Thanks, edgar and Barry the Brit for the great Waylon Jennings songs. That guy is great, and The Signing song by Kristin was fantastic.

I love Edward Woodward, y'all, and had no idea that he sang. Wonderful song by him and thanks for the introduction.

In tribute to the Edward that I remember.

@edgarblythe,
Wish I was in Waikiki about now, edgar. Your thread on Colton Harris-Moore brought this to mind:

Letty, have a safe trip to Virginia.

(You, know I'd forgotten that Edward Woodward sang. Enjoyed that.)
