@JPB,
and when I was a kid, they never had to coax me to bed. I was always sleepy.

Loved Pernell Roberts, y'all.

Just remembered Michael Landon. He died of pancreatic cancer just like my musician friend, Bill.

@JPB,
Thanks, Chicago. When edgar played Maria, I thought of this one. I think it was the music behind Romeo and Juliet.

I guess my all time favorite plays by the Bard were, MacBeth; Julius Caesar; Romeo and Juliet.

I'm sure that you will love the visuals, Miss Squirrel

I love the Matt Monroe. And that Romeo and Juliet piece is fabulous. That calls for a Scotch and Soda.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! Great song by The Kingston Trio, edgar. What I call quiet soul. How about some Glenlivet?

Here's another soul song, folks. This one is by the Isley Brothers.

I remember Joanie Sommers. Her big hit record came in the early to mid 1960s. It was "Johnny Get Angry."

@edgarblythe,
I really have come to appreciate Loretta Lynn, edgar. Perhaps it's her survival and productivity in spite of hard times. Really like Coal Miner's Daughter, buddy.

Loretta Lynn (born Loretta Webb on April 14, 1935) is an American country music singer-songwriter; she was one of the leading country vocalists and songwriters during the 1960s and is revered as a country music cultural icon.

Lynn ruled the charts during the '60s and '70s, racking up over 70 hits as a solo artist and a duet partner.

With an impoverished upbringing, a troubled yet devoted marriage, chronic illness and exhaustion due to her hectic pace, and several tragedies through the years, Lynn's own life often provided the grist for her popular tunes. Her best-selling 1976 autobiography, Coal Miner's Daughter, was made into a hit Academy Award-winning film starring Sissy Spacek and Tommy Lee Jones in 1980.

Although she was out of the loop for a few years while taking care of her husband, who died in 1996, Lynn returned to touring in 1998. In 2000, she released her first album since 1988 to contain original solo material] Including solo and duet work, Loretta Lynn has released 16 number one country hits over the course of her career.

Bravo, Loretta.

Just found out that Guy Williams was one of the characters in Bonanza, folks, and had no idea that the man played Zorro. Great looking guy, too.

Here's one from Disney's Zorro.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! That is different, edgar. Think I prefer the jazz version, however. Sang that one at a mixer in undergrad school. Thanks for the introduction, buddy.

I had forgotten that Guy Williams was the father in Lost in Space. I remember the theme song to that one, and am humming it as we speak.

Speaking of space, I just remembered Sputnik 2. Talking about animal cruelty, y'all. This one is disgusting.

Laika (Russian: Лайка, literally meaning "Barker") was a Soviet space dog (c. 1954 " November 3, 1957) who became the first animal to orbit the Earth and the first orbital death. Little was known about the impact of spaceflight on living things at the time Laika's mission was launched. Some scientists believed humans would be unable to survive the launch or the conditions of outer space, so engineers viewed flights by non-human animals as a necessary precursor to human missions. Laika, a stray, originally named Kudryavka (Russian: Кудрявка Little Curly-Haired One), underwent training with two other dogs, and was eventually chosen as the occupant of the Soviet spacecraft Sputnik 2 that was launched into outer space on November 3, 1957. Sputnik 2 was not designed to be retrievable, and Laika had always been intended to die.

grrrrrrrr.
