edgar, Thanks for that Simon and Garfunkel song. It inspired me to find something that I have been searching for a long time, Texas.

One by one,

Branch to branch,

Leaves topple.

JPB, another beautiful one by Yanni. Loved the flutes, and I had to do some research on The Forbidden City. It's from China.

We all know The Taj Mahal. Hope Gautam is all right.

Today is Veronica Lake's birthday. Had no idea that she died in Montreal.

Here is a tribute to her by Nat.

The Veronica Lake tribute was nice, particularly with Nat's voice on there.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, for a moment there I thought you were talking about our Rockhead.

That song, Child of War, must have something to do with Vietnam, right?

Oops, missed soccerGeorge. It's too early for holly and jolly, methinks.

I recall a song by Burl about a squirrel that lived up in a tree. Stoat helped me find it on Abuzz, but I cannot find it here.

Today is Claude Monet's birthday, so here is a group called Boston to do a tribute to the famous artist.

I watched about half of the Monet tribute, letty. The youtube player kept pausing so often and for so long, I had to quit. I will try to remember to check it later on.

@edgarblythe,
Strange things have been happening to me all day, edgar. finally had to shut down and turn off our cyber radio.

My goodnight song with English translation, y'all.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBmZ1pgYdcc&feature=related

"Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps"

I am always asking you
When, how and where
You always tell me
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps

The days pass this way
And I am despairing
And you, you always answer
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps

You are wasting time
Thinking, thinking
That which you want most
Until when? Until when?

The days pass this way
And I am despairing
And you, you always answer
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps

You are wasting time
Thinking, thinking
That which you want most
Until when? Until when?

The days pass this way
And I am despairing
And you, you always answer
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps

Nat Cole was a remarkable man.

Goodnight all,

From Letty with love and admiration

I didn't realize that Johnny did Maria, edgar. Loved Sondheim's West Side Story, and here's another from him.

I like O What a Beautiful Morning much better than the movie, letty.
I sometimes enjoy the brassy sound of Pet Clark, sometimes not. Today I was in a mood to listen.

@edgarblythe,
Funnnneeeee, edgar.

Incidentally, That Sunday in the Park with George was the painter, George Seurat. I love the idea of the golden spiral and the golden mean. (also the golden ratio)

da Vinci and George Seurat.

Our art for today, folks.

@edgarblythe,
You know, edgar, I never cared for Vaughn Monroe, but I have come to appreciate him just as you have learned to appreciate a capella. Incidentally really like The Old Master Painter, buddy.

I think our Bert Lee used this one for part of his songs. Need to check on him. Haven't heard in a while.

Ghost Riders is the song that made me love Vaughn. I often recall an episode of Bonanza, in which Adam Cartwright feels called upon to teach Monroe's character how to sing. It's a thankless task, until, at the end, he is able to serenade, and win, his girl.

@edgarblythe,
When I was a kid I used to get to stay up just to watch the opening theme/credits for Bonanza before being rushed off to bed. It was probably on at 7:00 or 8:00 but bedtime was bedtime in our household except for those few extra seconds when I got my weekly fix of Dan Blocker - my first crush.

Ah... memories...
