@edgarblythe,
Love Donovan, edgar. That was lovely. UhOh. Got a tune in my head."..my shawl, pretty lady, buy one today..."

Another UhOh, folks. Today is Friday 13.

The fear of Friday the 13th is called paraskevidekatriaphobia, a word derived from the concatenation of the Greek words Paraskeví (Παρασκευή) (meaning Friday), and dekatreís (δεκατρείς) (meaning thirteen), attached to phobía (φοβία) (meaning fear). The term triskaidekaphobia derives from the Greek words "tris", meaning 'three', "kai", meaning 'and', and "deka", meaning 'ten'. the whole word means three and ten. The word was derived in 1911 and first appeared in a mainstream source in 1953

My only superstition was the death of the first born son. I think that was because of the blood line. Odd, no?

Origins, folks.

I had a black cat named panther. That's all I remember about him.

I am not superstitious, but I believe the presence of certain things affect one's life, through symbolism. That is why, when one who once professed great friendship for me, essentially robbed me, I rid myself of every material object that had belonged to him, both at home and work. I don't call it superstition, just removing unpleasant reminders. I found that this lifted my spirits.

Speaking of spirits, the drinks 'r on me.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, I remember that one, edgar, and loved it. Incidentally, I agree about the symbolism.

Here is the REAL Margaret (Molly) Brown, folks.

She was a first class passenger about the Titanic and Irish, too.

Tried to find John (Cardinal) Newman's version of Lead Kindly Light which turned out to be about the Titanic without much luck.

This version will have to do.

A Night to Remember was on AMC the other night as well as the original Mutiny on the Bounty. Fell asleep before I could see either.

Back later with my goodnight song.

Thanks for the turkey survival song, edgarblythe.
It cheers up a dark, cold rainy morning here in the 'Chusetts.

I liked McClean Stevenson, but have to admit, his TV series, Hello Larry, stunk. I was given a set of M*A*S*H* DVDs last year. It covers Stevenson's whols time with the series, including the episode in which his character dies. He was very funny and even touching a couple of times.
