Hi, letty and all. I have been in a very different state of mind today. But, I am back now. Fogerty had a worse time than I imagined. Many times, one's fate seems to be determined by a lottery system.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks, edgar, for keeping us on the air, and I know that we all have good days and bad days. Love is All We need by Tommy Edwards was great,buddy. Don't know him, but I found out that he was from the Richmond, Virginia area. Yep, gone too soon.

Well, y'all, today is Mary Travers birthday and I always liked Peter, Paul, and Mary, so let's remember her as she was.

@edgarblythe,
ah, such great memories, edgar. Love that one, too. Wasn't that John Denver?

Well, our Tai Chi has had some trouble, so I think we should cheer her up with a memory of the high school marching bad.

This is when I played clarinet and what I remember playing. Hey, we were better than this band, y'all.

@Letty,
Ah, we cross posted Letty. In my day we wore hotter-than-hades wool uniforms:

I still have my clarinet. It's a collector's item by now, I'll bet.

Tomorrow's the anniversary of the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald (1975).

Gordon Lightfoot:

The Mariner's Church in Detroit:

It really is lovely. I attended a service there once with my reserve unit. Marching through a quiet deserted Detroit on a Sunday morning was interesting.

Loved your Calgary Stampede march, Tai Chi. Incidentally, we have all cheered each other up.

I think you may have let that stampede go too far. Love it! Nice to have our Canuck friends on the radio today. That church was really beautiful. Loved the stained glass windows.

Thanks, edgar for that clarification.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with what our Tai Chi meant to play, and one by the late, great Freddy Fender.

First Gordon,

@Barry The Mod,
Good morning WA2K radio folks.

Welcome back, Brit. First, allow me to comment on David Sanborn and Sam Moore. Fantastic sax, and Sam phrases like I like to hear them soul boys do. In searching out Sam, I was stunned to find out that he was murdered. That led me to discover King Curtis and Night Train. Love discovering stuff here.

Before I play my favorite Canuck's piano version of Night Train, I would also like to acknowledge the Welsh National anthem and The Tide is Turning. What an inspiration. I have blood ties to Wales. Thanks for all of your contributions, buddy.

@Tai Chi,
Tai, I am resisting the urge to tell you to have a good day. Razz I love Oscar and always have.

Well, folks your PD/Producer has to make a retraction. It was NOT Sam Moore who was done in; it was King Curtis. Thank to the Brit for the correction.

Today is Richard Burton's birthday, so here is a tribute to him.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0ku3C8qUMI

One of my favorites by him was his role as Edwin Booth, Prince of Players.

Sorry for the rather abrupt ending
