On a rival radio station this morning (BBC, based in London, England) I heard a version of this song by Sting (who should be renamed Larceny) and I think the original is better.
Okay maybe not the "original" exactly, but the pop-folk original.

Please give it a play, Ms DJ, and see what your listeners think.

Thanks! I finally listened to Babs' CD on the car system on my way to and from errands. As to the birth of the album, she mentioned it on the radio just before election day 2009:
