Good morning, WA2K folks

Ah, now I understand edgar and panz. I got the two Chrises mixed up. Love Chris Montez's Call Me; The More I see You, and Let's Dance.

I was very disappointed in the menu at the new place where La Mer used to be. It's rather like a pub. Ah, well. Will not go there again.

Brooke, Thank you for the kind words and the lovely song by Sarah. You are a dear, lovely lady.

edgar, Lincoln doing Beyond the Sea was great and it gave me an early morning smile which I need. (more about that later)

Never heard Elvis do Heart of Rome. It was good.

dj, Thanks for the introduction to Kate Rusby, Canada. My favorite by her was Blooming Heather.

Rock, Thanks for that song by Joan Jett. Never heard her but I love Have You Ever Seen the Rain. Yep, Joan, saw a lot this morning.

Today is Bruce Springsteen's birthday, y'all. Don't think he needs any introduction. We'll dedicate this to our Urs. Hope she is all right and back safely in Germany.

Forgive all the edits. Like to get it right, folks

Good Springsteen. Here he is again, with the Ghost of Tom Joad (of Grapes of Wrath, for those who don't recognize the name)

@edgarblythe,
edgar, great song about Steinbeck's Grapes of Wrath and the trying time of the "Okies" and the dust bowl. Thanks, Texas for that song by "the boss". Really love history in song, y'all.

How about a little jazz. Today is John Coltrane's birthday, and I had no idea the man died so young.

Coltrane plays my "telling song."

@panzade,
Thanks, panz. I listen to that song by different performers all the time.

Here's another of my favorites, y'all, and it's his birthday.

@edgarblythe,
Damn, edgar, Old Blue Eyes can sing, and Here's That Rainy Day is awesome. Thanks, Texas.

Well, edgar's had Sinatra on his mind and since it's Ray Charles' birthday, he's got Georgia on his.

Ray Charles made one of the finest recordings ever, whith that song, letty. Well, since nobody asked, I will do it on my own and bring in Judy Collins.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, that is such a plaintive song by Julie. I feel it, Texas.

Must say goodnight a little early as there are more problems.

My goodnight song.

Good morning in radioland. It's fall for certain. Can't believe my Denver daughter already had her first snow of the season. It is in the lower 60s here, with scattered showers.
Good music, as usual, Barry.

@edgarblythe,
er, edgar, that should have been JUDY. (Judy, Judy, Judy-someone imitating Cary Grant)

Wow! First snow in Denver?

Thanks for the song by the BeeGees, buddy.

Hey, Brit, we wondered where you were. Glad to see you back even though you have pulled the plug.

I recall the rumour about Jim having AIDS. Doesn't matter, however, because the man was fabulous.

Loved the Bongo song by Preston Epps, and The Pet Shop Boys version of If Love Were All, was awesome. Ah, Noel Coward day. Do Mad Dogs and Englishmen still go out in the noonday sun?

A couple of songs this morning, y'all.

First a muppet song to match Preston.

Now one that I love by John and Olivia.

Hold good thoughts for my kids today. Daughter goes in hospital for gall bladder surgery, and had to give an okay to Dave's charge nurse to do another medical procedure.
