@edgarblythe,
Wow! Fantastic, edgar. How did the editor of Rolling Stones get by with that? Love the visuals, buddy.

Today is Peggy Lipton's birthday. Anyone remember Mod Squad?

Here's a tribute to her and a follow up from wikipedia.

and some background on the lady.

@edgarblythe,
ah, edgar, Peggy's Golden Throats was lovely. I was so surprised to read that she dated Elvis and had a tryst with Paul McCartney. And the real stunner was that she married Quincy Jones. What a performer that guy was, Texas.

Loved that Bob Dylan song as well. When Bob does his thing with acoustic guitar, there's nothing better. Is it true that "Like a Rolling Stone" was considered to be the no 1 song for years?

Remember Sanford and Son?(I believe it was called Steptoe and Son in England) Quincy did the theme for that one, folks.

Let's listen, shall we?

I still catch an occasional rerun of Sanford. Good show. I remember reading about Peg and Quince quite a few years back.

Like a Rolling Stone was the quintessential, the breakthrough, the whatever - for Bob and rock music. Frankly, I do love it, but he has dozens of songs I like much more.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again, edgar. You certainly are a fan of Bob's which I have become recently.(minus harmonica, of course.)

Well, today is Mary Shelley's birthday, folks, and for those of us who know and love her, here is a brief background on her life.

Mary Shelley (née Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin; 30 August 1797 " 1 February 1851) was a British novelist, short story writer, dramatist, essayist, biographer, and travel writer, best known for her Gothic novel Frankenstein: or, The Modern Prometheus (1818). She also edited and promoted the works of her husband, the Romantic poet and philosopher Percy Bysshe Shelley. Her father was the political philosopher William Godwin, and her mother was the philosopher and feminist Mary Wollstonecraft.

When I was at the super market today, they had halloween stuff displayed. Sheeze, and after halloween, Christmas will be next.

A tribute to Mary.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! That song by Cure was awesome. Had to check them out, edgar, and it seems they were a goth type group from England. Love the acoustic guitar, of course, and the minor key was reflective of a love gone wrong. Thanks for the introduction.

Here's a lovely one by Three Dog Night, y'all. It's a peaceful song.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, edgar, love that one by Harry, but if I get any more sun here, "....I'll fall in to the sere; the yellow leaf..." MacBeth, incidentally.

Thank you so much for keeping our wee cyber radio on the air. It has taken my mind off the plight of my son.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think this one reflects the Four Freshmen's influence. Also a fragment of Percy Shelley, folks.

Perhaps many of you do not remember Capucine. A lovely woman who gave up her life.

Fragment to the Moon
Art thou pale for weariness
Of climbing Heaven, and gazing on the earth,
Wandering companionless
Among the stars that have a different birth,--
And ever changing, like a joyless eye
That finds no object worth its constancy?

Percy Bysshe Shelley

Goodnight, all.

From Letty with love

@edgarblythe,
Good morning, WA2K and edgar. Never heard David Gray, Texas, but I really liked Sail Away With Me.

Here's another by him, folks, and then one by Van Morrison since it is his birthday.

First, David.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, sorry that I can only hear part of your song. It must be the equipment in my wee studio.

Today is Itzhak Perlman's birthday, and he is best remembered for his theme to Schindler's list. Going to try and play it, folks. Wish me luck.

Nope! not working. Back later

@edgarblythe,
edgar, Yo-Yo Ma is indeed breathtaking. Did you notice how he got into his performance? Love the cello and that concerto was inspiring. He even plucked the strings to come up with a musical moment. Thanks, Texas, and I heard every bit of it.

Well, this may be a bit of a come down, but today is Richard Gere's birthday, and I really liked him in Pretty Woman, and All That jazz.

Daughter made it to Tennessee all right, and at the moment, things are fine.

Glad to see that our Brit is fine. Always miss his contributions and his apple climbing.
