@edgarblythe,
you know, edgar, that song almost had the sound of Rudee Valley and his megaphone. Their white album is kinda spooky, cause Charles Manson used a lot of the songs to represent prophecy. Check it out, folks.

This has been stuck in my head, so let's listen again.

And don't forget to listen to George Shearing's birthday song, I Cover the Water Front. It is awesome.

Personally, I don't put any weight to the thoughts of a person like Manson, when listening to the Beatles. The songs were written without a thought of the kind of scenario that guy had in mind.
Dancing in the moonlight is a good song.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, Manson was very warped as we all know. He even wrote to the Beatles asking them to join his revolution.

What a neat song by young Francoise. I had never heard of her until you played her music, edgar.

Well, time for me to say goodnight, and I think I shall do so with Nat via Hoagy.

Stardust is my favorite Nat recording, letty.
I read a few days back that Bob Dylan is recording an album of Christmas songs.

Good morning, WA2K folks.

Hey, Brit. I wish we could all be that crazy. What a fantastic stunt and all for a good cause.

Richie Cole is fabulous. What a different jazz sound and he plays great alto sax. Thanks for the introduction.

Wonderful goodnight song, edgar. Nat will always be unforgettable, right?

A couple of notables for this morning, y'all.

First, a surprise from Steve Martin whose birthday is today.

David Crosby's birthday is today as well. Always liked this one by the trio.

Steve did an admirable job, filling in for the late Lester Flatt on that song, letty.
Crosby and the boys were a fine group.

This is a Townes composition you may be familiar with.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I listened to both Townes Van Zandt and Willie and Bob's version of Pancho and Lefty. That's a song that we can feel.

The story of Townes Van Zandt's life is tragic, and when I read that he died forty years to the day after Hank Williams died, I silently wept, Texas.

and, y'all, my favorite of Hank's. He was a poet.

Strange, my daughter just called and said that my son was back on the ventilator and in grave condition. He is far away in Kingsport, Tennessee.

JPB played Whispering on Rock's music thread and this hymn came to my mind.

@edgarblythe,
That song was fabulous, edgar. Love the way that guy worked all those songs into the flying saucers. (hmmm. wonder why they were always called saucers)

Can't believe Gogi Grant was almost eighty when she sang that song.

I swear, Texas, Ray Stevens was one of the funniest performers. He made fun of everything.

I like Gogi. And of course, Ray is wonderful. Another funny guy is Ben Colder. (He's the same guy that sings Purple People Eater, using a different name).
