I've been listening to those two guys all my life, letty. When I was five, my Mom told me about a man who asked Ernest for an autograph. "It's for my wife," he explained. "Personally I don't think you sing worth a damn."

Here is Mr Storyteller, Tom T Hall.

@edgarblythe,
Love that one by Tom T., edgar. Funny one about Ernest. Odd, his idea of talking to old Hank, made me think of a will-o-the wisp. I think it's a strange occurrence with swamp gass, but it use to scare me when I was a kid.

So, here is my goodnight song, y'all.

@edgarblythe,
Good morning, WA2K and edgar.

Love that song, buddy. Great lyrics and my kind of jazz.

A couple of songs for us this AM.

First, a birthday boy, Dave Evans of U2

@urs53,
Wow! Urs, that guy is fabulous. The combination of the piano and the cello stirred a few memories. Loved Willy de Ville's deep voiced talking into the melody. Hard to believe that he died of pancreatic cancer. "Heaven Stood Still" is a fantastic title as well. Thanks, gal, for the beauty. Was the pianist doing a bit of Beethoven?

@urs53,
Urs, you never cease to amaze us, gal. "...like a watercolour in the rain.." Love that line. I suspect that "The Year of the Cat" is touching a lot of feline lovers everywhere.

Remembering my reproduction of Maurice Utrillo, so this will be our art for today.

Not certain if this is a watercolour or not, however.

@Barry The Mod,
Hey, Brit, you don't "but in" here on our cyber radio station. Thanks for the info.

Ah, how long ago a bunch of us went to hear the LSO and met Dave. Miss Paul Desmond, London, but here is a memory.

Dave's son was performing as well.

Loved Colin Firth, dyssieBob. He did a lot of movies, and I did find Love is in the Air.

edgar, That is one of my all time favorite jazz ballads. Thanks, Texas.

Another discovery for our little cyber radio station. Mel Tellis has a birthday today, and I just found out that he wrote, "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town". I first became interested in Mel when he told Jimmy Dean in a stuttering voice, "Well, at least I don't have to sell sausage for a living."

Although the sync is off in this one, it is amazing that those who have a stutter do not do so when they sing.

I haven't really seen much by Keith, but he is a good actor. Here is the theme from a film I watched last night.

@edgarblythe,
Don't forget to check out Mel, edgar.

Didn't see that one with Kevin Costner, Texas, but the theme was lovely. Still prefer the Tombstone version of the same events, however.

Well, folks, today is the birthday of a mermaid, and here is a wonderful tribute to her.

I know that Mel song.
Esther Williams was one I watched as a kid. I recall her best swimming with Tom and Jerry.
