@Rockhead,
Rock, I think the things that parents should do is NOT forbid children to watch or listen to certain things, but do so with them and debunk in a gentle way, the shams. I think that is what Alice is trying to say in his interview.

Yes, the news is scary; that's why I no longer watch it as I did when Peter Jennings was alive.

How about something by Ray Charles that tends to lighten the spirit and makes us want to dance.

A very young Ray, folks.

@edgarblythe,
Hey, edgar. I really love Ventura Highway by America. Thanks, Texas. We're not supposed to like Alice, Texas. That's what he's all about.

The one thing about the interstate complex is that it manages to allow us to by-pass America, right?

The mother of the original road system is found here.

And here's Nat to sing about it, y'all.

Hope our Izzie arrives safely.

I think Nat did the best version of Route 66.
We saw many bits and pieces of Route 66 on our recent trip.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for the inspiration, edgar. Humpty Dumpty Heart by Hank sent me to the archives to find out if the nursery rhyme fellow was an allusion to some historic figure. It seems that it was just a riddle. Shucks!

How about a little jazz, folks. Love this one.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I recall Faron's , Hello Walls. He has/had a great voice, Texas. Love the song that you played by him. Never heard that one. Right now, it seems like 4 0'clock in the morning to your PD/Producer.

You know, folks, as we age we learn to appreciate all kinds of music, but one must have an open mind "...to let the music in..."

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First, since it's Tony Bennett's birthday, here's one by him and K.D. Lang. (talk about a great voice) Had no idea that Tony had a drug problem later in his life.
