Inspired by the flying dutchman, y'all.

Another afternoon session, y'all. I noticed that Rudy Vallee's birthday is today. I recall awakening in the middle of the night and catching part of this movie.(the ad only takes a few seconds)

Notice the strains of Deep Night in the background.

http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi1536688409/

Rudy's megaphone style of singing made a come back with this song.

Stole this one from Rock. How lovely is thy dwelling place, Moby Dick.

Miss you, green sea turtle/yitwail

@dyslexia,
Hmmm, folks, dys can say "David" but he can't say, "Letty".

Nice song, cowboy.

Like this one as well, y'all, and we'll dedicate this to Rock's Baby Grapes.

I've checked out everyone's songs. Too many to write about each one.

This is my favorite by The Hilltoppers

@edgarblythe,
Wow, edgar. I don't even know The Hilltoppers, but I most certainly know Marianne sifting sand, buddy. Thanks.

Well, folks, from sand to Blood and Sand to the guy who fights the bulls.

From Bizet, a little opera today on WA2K.

@edgarblythe,
My word, I had forgotten Johnny Rae, edgar. My sister loved him. Well, Texas, if we can't walk in the rain, perhaps this guy can help.

A rain dance might be helpful.

Here is something I came across while searching for something else. Pretty nice.

@edgarblythe,
Fantastic, edgar. Is that the same John Donne who observed:

"therefore, send not to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."

This one is not as mature and melodic as yours, but I still love it.

Time for me to say goodnight, and since most of us love mythology, how about this song, y'all.

Good morning, WA2K radio folks.

Have a safe flight, Izzie, and Westlife is a new group to me. Ever wonder if shoulder blades were wings to start with?

Hey, Rock. The last time that I experienced hail it was in the spring in Virginia. Three or four of us kids were riding our bikes on a place called ridge road, and hail came up suddenly. It makes me smile to remember the huge balls of ice thumping us on the head and there was NO shelter.

Jet Airliner by Dave. Great send off for our Izzie.

Well, today is Woden's day. Guess I'm still on a mythology kick.

http://www.markzug.com/Zines/Woden.jpg

Scary, ain't he, and look at that raven black against the moon.

Well, I promised yiwail that I wouldn't play this, but I think I shall, anyway.

Hope this works, y'all. Things have been weird recently.

Good morning. Last night, my grandson unexpectedly turned up one last time before returning to Denver. That caused me to leave off the computer earlier than normal. Everyone's still asleep, so I haven't any sound. Will be back after noon, y'all.

@edgarblythe,
Well, edgar, I understand the problem; it's always good to have you on WA2K radio, texas.

Today is Peter Jennings' birthday. I have NEVER watched the news since he died. He was a scholar and a gentleman. (besides that, he was a hunk)

Razz

A tribute to him, y'all.

Well, y'all, looks as though I'm winging it this afternoon. How about more wings, then.

First, Sir Paul and Wings.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JK2hKzZss5Y&feature=related

And since it is Martina McBride's birthday, how about "...a broken wing..". Advance warning, folks, this one is very sad.
