Good morning, WA2K radio audience.

My word, our edgar is back. Love both of those Jerry Lee Lewis songs, Texas. When you get a chance, tell us about your adventure.

Hey, Rock. Loved that Cowboy Junkies Blue Moon. Never heard them, and Thin Lizzie's Dancing in the Moonlight reminded me of that other one that I heard on Cold Case.

Well, I stayed up rather late watching View to a Kill with Roger Moore. It was pretty good. Had I been more alert, it would have been a cliff hanger.

Odd, today is Robin Williams' birthday and Jumanji was another that I watched. Didn't exactly understand it, but I love Robin.

Two birthdays today, y'all, one from Cat and the other an instructional video.

First, Cat

@Barry The Mod,
Thanks for that info, Brit. I checked out What Dreams May Come and realized that I had not seen the movie. Didn't see Happy Feet either. I did, however, find the theme to the "dreams" movie by Sir Elton, and here it is, y'all.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks, edgar, for the acknowledgements, and I had to research the movie, Jack. Also found out that his graduation speech was wonderful because he suffered from a disease called progeria (rapid aging).

Well, folks, this is Robin Williams day, I guess. I just remembered the movie Awakening, a true story of comotose patients and how this doctor brought them out of the state caused by encephalitis.

LOS ANGELES - Sen. John McCain and the Republican Party are apologizing to Jackson Browne for using one of his songs during last year's presidential campaign.

The GOP is also vowing to get artists' permission before using musicians' work in future political campaigns.

The apology and pledge were released Tuesday along with an announcement of a settlement with Browne over a federal copyright infringement lawsuit filed in Los Angeles. Browne sued McCain and the national and Ohio Republican parties last year for using his song "Running on Empty" to mock Democrat Barack Obama in a Web ad.

Financial details of the settlement weren't disclosed.

The statement said McCain didn't know about the ad, which was

@edgarblythe,
Oh, my, edgar. Love the song Running on Empty, but I would never have gotten the connection. er, is General Lee the name of the Dodge Charger?

Thanks for the change of pace, Texas.

Here's one about summer by Chad and Jeremy, y'all.

I don't know of a connection between that picture (Running on Empty video) and the song. Just the poster's fertile imagination at work.

We rented a car for our trip. I made a wrong turn in Dallas and got confused by all the converging freeways. Other than that, all went well from there to Albuquerque. The three primary reasons for driving were: my wife has never been through any of those places; I definitely wanted to visit my friends in New Mexico; we needed to prove we are still capable of making those long-haul trips. I love those long stretches of highway and the vast lands that spread before the car, and I wish to explore them further, yet feel glad I have the safety and comfort of a well stocked, air conditioned ride. Tucumcari was of special interest to me, simply because Lee Van Cleef, in a Clint Eastwood movie, made a train stop there to let him and his horse off.

Bob and Diane are as the fabled tales hold them to be; simply two of the most wonderful folks one will meet in any lifetime. I was charmed by Roger, who was a true gentleman, and by Osso, who only made it it there about fifteen or twenty minutes before we left. If my wife were of the same mind, I would seek to live in Albuqureque, But, she told me I would be going alone if I tried that.

We made it to Las Vegas, about three AM or so and chose to stay downtown, where room rates are lower. We did lots of walking, but were careful to stay out of the sun as much as possible. The city was under a heat advisory. The high was 112 one day, with a low of 90.

The wedding took place in the Regency chapel. The air conditioning was not adequate, and we all were sweating. Aside from that, all went well and our daughter is now wed to a man with the same first name as hers, down to the identical spelling.

We left out at 6:30 AM Sunday, which translates to 8:30 Houston time. In New Mexico we began to see showers. As we reached Amarillo, we were treated to a spectacular lightning show. It was there before us for hours before we finally drove through it. From that point, it rained intermittently all the way to The Woodlands, just a few miles from home. We spent Monday night in a motel in Childress, then came on in by 3:30 or so. It was early enough I was able to pick up Punky from the boarding kennel.

@edgarblythe,
This is a news story that somehow made me smile, y'all.

Popular San Diego seals win reprieve from governor

By GILLIAN FLACCUS, Associated Press Writer Gillian Flaccus, Associated Press Writer " Tue Jul 21, 7:27 am ET
SAN DIEGO " A colony of federally protected harbor seals is causing a stink about whether it should spend its days lounging at a popular San Diego cove or be sent packing.
On Monday, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a bill that adds a marine mammal park to the list of acceptable uses for the sheltered cove where the seals have lived for years.
The potential reprieve came just hours after a San Diego judge ordered the city to begin chasing the pesky pinnipeds from the beach by Thursday " or risk hefty fines " to comply with a 2005 order to restore the cove to its original condition.
Gina Coburn, a spokeswoman for the city attorney's office, said city officials will hold a news conference Tuesday to announce their plans now that state law includes a provision for the seals at the site.
Environmentalists rejoiced at the news and had high hopes for the seals at Children's Pool.

Guess what I'm going to play.

@edgarblythe,
You're right about Diane, edgar, and although Roger quite often says, "No!" he is a gentleman. Hmmm, now dys/Bob, well........ Razz

Sounds like a great wedding, Texas, and although this may not be the place, we can imagine, right?

So, your daughter and her new husband must have had this in mind.
