Goodnight, dear Izzie. Loved that James Morrison song.

Rock, Knew everyone of those Mills Brothers' songs. I always think of fireflies when I hear them.

http://www.webweaver.nu/clipart/img/nature/insects/firefly.gif

Especially like the line: When ya gotta glow ya gotta glow.

Ah, Clint Eastwood and James Craig.

Thanks for the memories, Rock and Dys.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I do hope the edgarblythes are all right.

My Goodnight song, y'all.

Good morning WA2K. My cleaning lady, Nancy, said that she and her husband, Adam, would like to go to the Grand Canyon. I asked her if she was familiar with the suite.

This is a lovely way to greet the day, y'all.

We may have to pump up the volume.

@Barry The Mod,
Afternoon, Brit. Love that eagle song by Steve Miller. Funny, I really know someone by the name of Stevie Miller. Wonder if there really is a man IN the moon. When I was a kid, he always frowned.

Inspired by the Rock man, I remembered this song that my mom used to sing to me. It's a mite different than what she did, but basically the same.

@Izzie,
Hey, Iz. We'll have to do a lullaby league later on. There's also a Scottish version of that frogman.

Don't know Will Young, but his You and I song was great. Thanks, hun.

Well, y'all, today is Carlos Santana's birthday. What a talent he is.

Here's an instrumental by the ocean. Love it!

@dyslexia,
Yep, dys. I think the world is in dire straits, and money for nothin' sounds about right. Thanks, cowboy.

Today is Natalie Woods' birthday, folks, and here is a trailer of the last movie she made on locale at Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina's outer banks. Odd, that. Just thinking of Cape Hatteras.

How about a little fun, folks. This bit was inspired by Mame's arrival in the Yukon.

My friend Bob used to say that King could really talk. Razz

Nothing was sacred with Ray.

I was trying to determine if there really was a Sgt. Preston of the Yukon. I am almost certain, folks, that there was a real lone ranger. What a wonderful discovery to find that just as the Lone Ranger theme was based on a classic ,so was Sgt. Preston of the Yukon.

Never saw the TV series about the man, nor listened to it on radio, but I most certainly know this classic.

Well, everyone is working or in bed, so I thought that I would say goodnight with two songs. One that remembers the moon venture, and the other that my mom used to sing to me.

First, The Sea of Tranquillity.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B882w2gC22s

and now, My Darlin Nelly Gray on a player piano and the lyrics will follow

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5g3kW0yXX0&feature=related

There's a lone green valley by the old Kentucky shore

Where we've whil'd many happy hours away;

A-sitting and a-singing by the little cottage door

Where dwelt my lovely Nelly Gray.

Oh! my poor Nelly Gray, they have taken you away,

And I'll never see my darling any more;

I am sitting by the river and I'm weeping all the day,

For you're gone from the old Kentucky shore.

When the moon had climb'd the mountain & the stars were shining too

Then I took my lovely Nelly Gray,

And I travell'd down the river in my little red canoe

While the banjo sweetly I did play.

Oh! my poor Nelly Gray, they have taken you away,

And I'll never see my darling any more;

I am sitting by the river and I'm weeping all the day,

For you're gone from the old Kentucky shore.

Oh! my eyes are getting blinded and I cannot see my way;

Hark! there's somebody knocking at the door.

I hear the angels calling and I see my Nelly Gray,

Farewell to my old Kentucky shore.

Oh! my poor Nelly Gray, they have taken you away,

And I'll never see my darling any more;

I am sitting by the river and I'm weeping all the day,

For you're gone from the old Kentucky shore.

I still play that on piano and it makes me cry.

Goodnight, world.

From Letty with love and a tear
