@edgarblythe,
Love it, edgar.

This is rather interesting, y'all. Henry VIII's birthday was a couple of days ago, and today is Genevieve Bujold's birthday who played in Anne of a Thousand Days.

Great song featuring the story of Anne Boleyn

Well, I got carried away but there were recordings I hadn't really searched out for years with Anita and there's just no good brick-and-mortar CD stores since Tower Records went bust -- I have fond memories of browsing their Sunset Strip store, one of the largest in the world, which had a separate classical store across the street from the main building. Years ago they would have a one date $ 1.00 for every LP in the store sale (the 50's and 60's). I'd go record shopping and then stop into the Scandia bar for a martini (or two) and some Swedish meatballs with friends.

Anyway, I downloaded three albums for basically the price of one and was able to manage them on two CD-R's. Then I had fun with my CD cover application, found all three album covers and printed out a quickly designed insert for the front -- I had a big box of TDK CD-R blanks I picked up at Costco years ago and I'll never run out! I'll upload the cover to my Facebook and then post it here so everyone can critique my graphic design skills. Careful -- I had eight different graphic design classes in art school, so you can say anything nasty! Besides, I whipped it up in fifteen minutes.

Good morning, WA2K radio audience.

edgar, Loved that song by Wynonna Judd. Ah, the good old days, Texas. Unfortunately, hindsight is an exact science.

Mr. Wizard, your view of the ocean reminds me that Anita kicked her habit by using the ocean. Remember that?

Quote of the day:

When you are a hammer, all the world looks like a nail.

Today is Michelle Branch's birthday, and although I have never heard her, I found out some interesting things. First, she was named after Michelle, my Belle by one of the Fab Four.

Here is one by her, y'all.

@Letty,
That's why I chose that beach scene! I didn't look to see if you had found Chris Conner's "All About Ronny," so here it is:

There's also Anita's famous hat she wore at the 1958 Newport Jazz Festival which I have the performances on video tape:

Thanks, Mr. Wizard. I found Chris' Ronnie song and played it yesterday.

Hey, cowboy. My favorite line from that Seals and Croft song "..going through the jasmine of my mind.." It really creates a picture.

Well, folks, today is Hermann Hesse's birthday, and frankly, I couldn't find a suitable tribute to the man, so guess what vocal group I am going to play.

@Rockhead,
Hey, mooseman. Born to be Wild is great, but Easy Rider was a scary movie to me. Didn't everyone get killed? I recall it was the first time that I saw Jack Nicholson and his red suspenders.

Looks as though today may be a wild day on WA2K.

More gentle now, folks. Here's a Wild Song.
