Heh, heh. edgar played "Ain't She Sweet" again. Glad that I'm not the only one who screws up.
Hey, Brit. Welcome back. I had to play that Santana a couple of times, 'cause the guy singing it didn't resemble Carlos. Then I checked him out and realized that he co wrote a lot of songs with THE Santana and it all made sense. Great song, and thanks. Still think that you, Izzie, Sarah, and FQ would make a really great quartet.
Today is Michelle Wright's birthday, and although I don't know her, it seems that she is a country Canadian, so let's listen.
Miss the moose and the squirrel. Played a great moon flower song for him by Carlos, and he didn't even say, "Why, thank you Letty."

Good morning. I didn't know her either, letty. But she's not bad. On a day like this, we might not need more heat, but that's what we've got with this song:
Newport Island was a sand shoal and they have to truck in earth fill before they built on it -- Grey's house was not on the channel but down the street. Should be Channel Street.
Along with "Harbor Lights" and "Red Sails,"

Lyrics:
Ev'ry morning mem'ries stray,
Across the sea where flying fishes play,
And as the night is falling
I find that I'm recalling
That blissful all enthralling day
Just before I sailed away,
She said the word I longed to hear her say,
I tenderly caressed her
Close to my heart I pressed her
Upon that golden yesterday.
I found my love in Avalon beside the bay,
I left my love in Avalon and sailed away.
I dream of her and Avalon, from dusk till dawn
And so I think I'll travel on
To Avalon.
Sinatra recorded it with Tommy Dorsey and the since torn down Avalon Ballroom (where my parents used to dance and I attended a huge drag show contest in the 60's (they did a rolling upright piano performing "Cabaret" with a cast of drag queens), not long before it burned down).
And Anita O'Day -- click on the upper R/H play button -- with a fast, swinging jazz version (I've got to find on CD).
Well, Amazon had the Anita O'Day in an MP3 download, but what the heck, I ordered "The Incomperable Anita O'Day" 'cause it had so many great songs I don't have on CD by the jazz vocalist who brought swing into the modern jazz idiom with Stan Kenton. When she left Kenton's orchestra, of course, June Christy took over with her reign until Chris Conner. I saw the Kenton band with Conner at, where else, the Avalon Ballroom?
May parents never really liked Kenton as they couldn't dance to his music.
I Left My Love in Avalon was beautiful, buddy, and I tried to find my favorite version of Flow Gently Sweet Afton by Robert Burns but most of the melodies were inconsistent with the one that I am used to. There is an Afton Mountain in Virginia as well.
Couldn't get Anita's version to play, however.
How about "the misty Miss Christie". We'll dedicate this one to those who are "too durned hot".
I have three or four Chris Conner recordings with "All About Ronnie" repeated more than once. I've already downloaded the two Anita O'Day CD's and about to burn a CD for the car (or my home sound equipment, which my Mom will love also -- she loves Anita).
I don't know why you'd have a problem with playing the O'Day cut, but it's only an excerpt and could possibly be on YouTube -- their search is sometimes elusive.

I liked that French song, letty. My grandfather didn't mix with the population much over there. He didn't pick up any of their words.
Welcome back mooseman. That Led Zepplin song was, shall we say, different? Not certain, but I think their name was connected with the American expression, "Went over like a lead balloon."
Hey, Texas. Loved that Too Darned Hot song. Strangely, it's cooler here.
Something that I don't often do, y'all, is to watch TV during my stint here on WA2K, but this one was soooo different. If any of you are interested, here's the link. I was stunned to see my drop leaf table as part of the scenery.
