@edgarblythe,
Hmmm, edgar. I went to the archives to discover about the flamingos that are indigenous to Florida. I was amazed to find out that there are different species from all over.

Here is a Florida version. Bud and I were lucky enough to see a huge, full blue moon rise out of the Atlantic and a couple of these fellows in flight as we sat in our Florida room

http://www.great-florida-vacations.com/image-files/florida-flamingo-homosassa-springs.jpg

I certainly did NOT know that Bob Dylan wrote that one about the Cuban Missle Crisis. Wow!

Yep, folks, I believe Merle is right about the "good times being over."

I hate to read the news any more. All those bodies being retrived from the Air France disaster, and other horror stories.

Well, Here's Leon singing about a masquerade, and it shall be my goodnight song. Maybe that is one of the problems. We just don't know the face behind the mask.

Goodnight, world.

From Letty with love

It's not Shirley. I am torn between saying it is Neil Sedaka or the Carpenters.

Good morning, WA2K folks.

Hey, Brit. Ain't Inga marvelous? She does a lot of the oldies as well.

edgar, There is a version of that song by Dione Warick and George Benson; love the jazz version as well.

Here's George

I found it. Laughing

I used to hear it on the radio, and would debate in my mind if it was her or Neil. I remember this morning.

@edgarblythe,
I like the jazz version of that one as well, edgar.

What a surprise to discover that Janis Ian's Tea and Sympathy alluded to Christine from Phantom of the Opera. Fantastic, Texas, and thanks.

Today is James Darren's birthday, y'all, and although I don't know him, I thought this would be a nice tribute.

One of my favorite composers was also born today, so this will be our classical piece for Monday.

First, James.

@edgarblythe,
Well, edgar, I never heard James Darren, but that song had a bit of P.T. Barnum in it. Thanks, Texas.

Somehow this is a bit eerie to me. Today is Nancy Sinatra's birthday and she's doing a song from Kill Bill. Weird when one thinks of David Carradine, no?

Another bit of synchronicity is that Cold Case that I watched last evening, had the musical Cabaret as its setting

Schuman music was nice, letty. The song, Bang Bang, was written by Sonny Bono for Cher.

Before I go to bed, here is something from Germany. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79LduFnawUg

The title Eine Liebe, die nie endet means a love that never ends. And the song is about - can you guess it? Well, it is German, very German. It's about soccer!

That song by Nancy was written for Cher by Sonny? Wow! Didn't know that. Thanks, for the info, edgar.

I do remember The Last Waltz by Humperdink, however.

Urs, sleep well and dream about these guys; not the sheepherders.

@edgarblythe,
Isn't it interesting to discover new things here on our little cyber radio, edgar?

Thanks for the Heart Ache song by Bonnie. Frankly, I don't think that I have ever heard her before, but when I discovered that she was Welsh, I became interested.

Here's a new one to me as well, y'all. Boz Scaggs, and I love the flute. Today is his birthday.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, I love America, edgar. Didn't they also do "A Horse With no Name?"Thanks for Ventura Highway. Seems as though we know and we go here on our radio. Speaking of going, it's time for me to say goodnight, and I was inspired by someone who got kicked. Razz

This guy is fabulous, y'all. His name is Michael Danso and here's a brief bio written by him.

Scottish-born and Toronto-based, I come from a Show Business family. My mother, PINKIE MACKENZIE, sang with all the top Big Bands when they toured Great Britain, and I first sang onstage with her at the age of 5, with The BERTIE KING BAND. By age 9, I was touring with my own group of girls, under the name WEE MAXIE AND HIS LASSIES.

Here's Michael with my last song for the evening.

Goodnight all, with a sad note just seeing edgar's announcement and song about Kenny Rankin. As you know, that is one of my favorites, Texas.

RIP, Kenny.
