@urs53,
urs, welcome back. So ZZ Top is from Texas. No wonder he said, "y'all" Great song, gal

Ah, yes, Motley Crue from the city of angels. Loved that one.

Never heard of Bang Your Head, but I see that they are from Germany. Great song as well.

Well, my goodness. You're really going to see the boss in Tulsa, Oklahoma? That's our Eva's stomping ground.

Here's an anniversary song for ya , gal. It's an instrumental on acoustic guitar. We used to laugh at the lyrics:

O how we danced on the night we were wed,
If you think we danced you got rocks in your head. Razz

@Letty,
Good morning, Miss Letty.

I've been listening to a bit of Van Morrison this morning. His newer stuff is a lot more introspective than his earlier, pop songs. Here's the title song from his 2008 cd, Keep It Simple

Good morning. I have checked a couple of songs and read everyone's posts. Don't have time to participate just now. Too much fix up to do on the house.

Letty, the Boss has to come to Germany for me! We will go to the concert in Munich and spend two days there, too. The concert is at Olympia Stadion which was built for the Olympics in 1972. It's a great location - more to be seen here: http://www.olympiapark-muenchen.de/index.php?id=olympiastadion&L=1

I saw The Police there a couple of years ago.

Bang Your Head is a big heavy metal festival held in Balingen for the 11th time this year. It's BigDice's favourite event Very Happy 20,000 heavy metal fans are conquering Balingen. It's a lot of fun!

JPB, Love Van Morrison, and his song "Keep it Simple" reminds me of the saying, "brevity is the soul of wit." Yes, it's the simple things in life that are the most fullfilling, gal. Thanks.

Oops, Urs. I see that I made another faux pas. (Bud called that expression, fox paws. What a great sense of humor he had)

Well, JPB reminded me of Jim Croce, and edgar reminded me of the carpenters, and since I love the painting Joseph the Carpenter, that will be our painting for the day.

First, Jim.( for you, too, Santa Tomas e Lucas, wherever you are)

Now, folks, The Carpenters.

And finally, the painting.

letty, I just watched The Good the Bad and the Ugly (again) last night. Everybody, even the trailers, call Lee Van Cleef the Ugly, but in the film, it is actually Eli Wallach that the film calls the Ugly.

@edgarblythe,
That theme from the Good The Bad and The Ugly is intriguing, edgar. Well, buddy, I can't recall every detail of the movie, but I think you are correct about Eli. Of course Clint was the good guy. Thanks for your acknowledging the other songs, buddy.

Love our mix of music and talk on our cyber radio, y'all. My "fox paws" with Urs about Tulsa, brought this song to mind. Let's listen.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, Charlie Pride, edgar. That guy has a great voice, and I enjoyed the song as well. Thanks for playing that one.

Today is Peter Yarrow's birthday. I guess we all know him best for his part in the trio, Peter, Paul, and Mary, but there are other distinguishing sides to his life. If anyone is interested, check it out.

Here's one of my favorites by the trio.

Here is Jerry Lee Lewis. I am not 100% certain, but this could be the first ever version of this song. I know I heard it a long time before anybody else.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I have been checking out other vocalists who did your song, and I like Jerry Lee's the best. Finally, my grass is getting greener, but it still has a way to go.

I been checking out the theme from The Good The Bad and The Ugly, and found out that strange sound is supposed to be the howl of a coyote.

Here's another by the same man who did that movie, y'all.

I really liked this film, but as we have discussed before, it didn't do well at the box office because Henry Fonda is a villain.

Each character has a musical ID.

It is very rare for me to dislike a Henry Fonda film, but I did not like that one, either. For me it seemed poorly constructed. I came very close to turning it off. I like the music to all of those type films, however.

@edgarblythe,
Great, edgar. I've never heard that song done in upbeat fashion, and from Norway? Hmmm. Wonder where our Cyracuz is?

Today is Walt Whitman's birthday, and I am going to play this tribute to him, but I can't decide whether I like it or not.

He was Paul's/Cavfancier's favorite poet.
