All in Green Went My Love Riding
Joan Baez
This is from a concept album, in which she alternated poetry reading with songs, and combinations of the two. It begins with a passage from James Joyce, Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. It traces childhood through adulthood and the horrors of war.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, edgar. Thanks for those memories of Joan and Starshine from Hair. We enjoyed them all, Texas.

Speaking of memories, today is Bob Hope's birthday. A tribute to him, y'all.

@edgarblythe,
I really enjoyed James and Bob, edgar. What talented guys they were. Neat jokes as well. Still smiling watching them dance.

Here's another salute to Bob by none other than Tiger Wood, folks.

@edgarblythe,
Loved that one by Bob, edgar. Wonder what the meaning behind it implies? Rather sounds like a side show of some kind. Also wonder how our dj knows what rubes and carneys are? Well, as Tai chi and I observed, he is a man of many talents.

Time for me to say goodnight and I think that I shall do it with this pop tune based on a classic.

Good morning, WA2K folks

Hey, Rock. Loved your Quicksilver song, buddy. I always thought that quicksilver messengers rode bikes.

Mr. Jones by Counting Crows was great as well. How long ago, a Japanese prof from Berkely U. told me that funky meant tacky on purpose.

Ah, edgar. Bobby and an upbeat "That's All". Great jazz ballad as well, Texas.

Well, as most of you know, I have been attempting to ascertain why I know the song, " and Mimi". Found out why, and it must have indeed been from my sisters. Although I don't know the man at all, many of his songs are quite familiar. Odd, too, that today is his birthday.

First a haiku from Richard Wright; then a Miss Jones song and finally " And Mimi"

The crow flew so fast

That he left his lonely caw

Behind in the field

A little background on the vocalist.

Art Lund (1 April 1915, Salt Lake City, Utah " 31 May 1990, Holliday, Utah) was a famous baritone singer, initially with bandleaders Benny Goodman and Harry James, and was also a television and stage actor.

Now, "and Mimi"

Just so surprised to know that Al Jolson did it as well.
