Good morning, WA2K radio audience.

edgar, loved the Kingston trio song about Darlin' Cory. Never heard it, however.

Welcome back, Brit. Speaking of Mr. Merriweather, glad that you are no longer feeling "...under the weather..." Many people have done The Minstrel Boy so I was not certain to which you were referring.

A couple of songs for today, y'all. First, The Sandpipers.

Now, since it's Wynonna Judd's birthday, how about some rock and roll.

Come Saturday Morning is associated in my mind with the film The Sterile Cuckoo. I liked the movie very much, but I've never met another person that would say they like it.

I have to say in advance, the video that accompanies this song is not something I would choose. But, I love the song.

@edgarblythe,
Great song, by Clyde, edgar. Yep, that is an unusual video for a Southern Baptist boy. Razz

I just checked, and I did not see The Sterile Cuckoo. I was merely searching for a Saturday song.

My word, folks, I just found out there was two or three groups who called themselves The Sandpipers. They did this one, but I like it by this Spanish fellow. Sing it Julio!

Heard from my daughter, and things are looking better on the home front. Skies are blue here as well.

Never heard Julio do that before, but I can see why you like it. He puts some pizazz to it.

Forgot to mention Barry's Daniel Merriweather song. That's something I've not heard before, but it was a good one.

@edgarblythe,
Just read about Don Gibson, edgar. As I once observed, the real slaves are the working poor. What a fantastic voice. Often I miss the Blueridge mountains of Virginia, but I think the altitude caused me to have problems.

Today is Mel Blanc's birthday, so let's have a little fun, shall we?

I'm a fan of Mel Blanc. He once had the Mel Blanc Show on TV. On the radio version of The Cisco Kid, he replaced the actor that played Pancho for the final season or two.

edgar, love that clip about Mel Blanc on The Jack Benny show. I had forgotten that he was the one who stayed a perpetual 39. Thanks, Texas. He was in Rich Little's Christmas Carol playing the violin when Scrooge reformed and gave him money to buy a Christmas Tree.

Welcome back, cowboy. That was a repetitious version of Motherless Child.

Ah, Canned Heat at a hippie commune. There is one in Virginia near Richmond.

Of course, my favorite one is Steam Roller by James Taylor.

Believe I like this one by Louis much better, y'all.
