@Foxfyre,
Foxy, Welcome back. You beat me to it, gal, so I took my vinyl off the turn table. Razz Them old folks dancing were not bad at all. The woman was better, right?

I guess it's time for Letty to be a fox on the run.

@edgarblythe,
Hey, edgar, Never heard Band on the Run. Sir Paul did some great ones with Wings. Thanks, Texas.

How about a little dixieland. These guys are Running Wild.

Time for me to say goodnight, and what started out as a bleak morning has turned into a wonderful evening. Heard from my daughter and all is going great in Virginia.

Thanks to the Mooseman, I learned something new today. Wayman Tisdale, who lost his battle with cancer, was a jazz jock. What a sad event that such a great round ball player had to die so young.

We'll remember your cruise, Wayman.

Sergio never went away, returning to his native Brazil and creating albums with traditional and modern Brazilian folk and pop music -- tell me this one doesn't get your feet movin' (you have to click on the link as the poster declined embedding)

Back in college, Letty, it wasn't the Mambo as much as the Cha-Cha and it's faster cousin (today's Salsa, really), the Merengue.

Speaking of Bahia, one of my favorite Disney cartoons is "The Three Cabelleros," which included this incredible combination of animation and live action (the first time this was done on film, I believe)

From the same film, some of the most beautiful animation art Disney produced and again, Bahia (the actual song, which I love)

Good morning, WA2K radio land.

Hello, edgar. Missed your goodnight song last evening. That's a goodun by The Fab Four. Thanks, Texas.

Mr. Wizard, I love all of those songs, buddy, but my very favorite was the last of your three, Baia. Listened to it three times. How long ago we dedicated The Three Caballeros to our Amigo. I guess we're all birds of a feather here on WA2K.

Well, folks, last evening was James Bond night on AMC; they enticed Sean Connery back after he protested the way too much emphasis was put on contrivances instead of plot. (waves goodbye to George Lazenby)

Here we go with double O, y'all.

The Bond films almost always have memorable themes.
The music from the wiz is great also.

@Letty,
I always enjoy "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" for Telly Savalas' malevolent but suave Blofeld, George Lazenby for his ultra-sophisticated presence and, of course, Dame Diana Rigg in her elfish but voluptuous love interest and a bit of Emma Peel (The Avengers) here and there (the times Bond actually falls in love, but the outcome is a spoiler if someone hasn't seen this particular Bond), and, to top it off, Louis Armstrong sings the theme song:

However, if I read you right, you're placing "You Only Live Twice" after OHMSS and it's actually before -- "Diamonds are Forever" was the return of Sean Connery.

dys, I'm assuming that this Frankie bunch were a protest group.

Rather vivid scenes from WWII. Thanks for the introduction.

edgar, I see foreshadowing here for the upcoming visit. The only thing I remember by David Cassidy is "I Think I Love You."

Hey, Mr. Wizard, I only played the theme from You Only Live Twice because it is the one that I watched. Sorry if I mislead you, buddy. Never did see On His Majesty's Secret Service, but I liked the theme. Also liked Diamonds are Forever. Thanks.

Odd, y'all, today is Pierce Brosman's birthday and he too played 007, but I can't recall which one at the moment.

Strange, The Lawnmower Man was on last evening. Pierce was in that one as well.

Here's the one that I like, folks. Watched The Thomas Crown Affair some time ago, but I like the theme from that movie.

The meaning of that song has been a much debated issue.

@Letty,
I'd try to catch or rent "On Her Majesty's Secret Service," the most underrated of the Bond films and the second in what is considered the "Blofeld Trilogy", coming between You Only Live Twice (1967) and Diamonds Are Forever (1971). This trilogy is of interest not only for the three different Blofeld actors (Donald Pleasence in You Only Live Twice, Telly Savalas in On Her Majesty's Secret Service, and Charles Gray in Diamonds Are Forever) but for its two Bond actors (Sean Connery, then George Lazenby, and back to Connery). So George is the filling in the sandwich. The new MGM HD channel, of course, now owns the rights to broadcast the franchise in hi-def (I'm not sure if it's out in Blu-Ray -- hafta look).

"Windmills" is about someone's mind after a romantic break-up and won the Oscar in the original 1968 Steve McQueen/Faye Dunaway flick. It was one of the better remakes, mainly for the recreation of the playful chemistry between Pierce and Rene Russo -- deliciously intriguing but not as seriously confrontational as the original.

Michel Legrand and Ginette Reno at the Montreal Jazz Festival:
