Good morning, WA2K radio audience.

edgar, Bobby's Sunday in New York was great. I recall having gone to Radio City Music Hall and seeing these gals.

My word, folks, had no idea that Johnny Cash did a song call Thunderball. It was supposed to be the theme to the James Bond movie and was axed at the last minute. Thanks, Rockman. Need to check that out.

Well, Barry the Brit is in bed so we can talk about him and he won't know. Do want to say that that Aretha is still the soul lady and enjoyed that live performance. You're right, however. Live music is always better than canned stuff. Enjoyed that Brit group Dr. Feelgood. Not familiar with them, but what an unusual song. "Riot in Cellblock No. 9" ? Guess those guys weren't feeling too good. My favorite of yours was the quartet of ladies that did a tribute to the Duke. Knew most of those songs, Mr. Cockney. Thanks!

Well, today is Trini Lopez's birthday. He did a lot of the oldies, folks. Here is one that I enjoy.

Hmmm. edgar might know if Harry did that one first.

Harry may or may not have recorded Lemon Tree. He made several albums after his popularity waned, which I never heard. I don't think he did. Peter Paul and Mary did it about the same time Trini had it.

Saw Belafonte at the Greek Theater in LA and there were more young people than older people. They all went wild when he went into doing the big hits.

Here's two major singing stars together who broke through the "black ceiling:"

@Lightwizard,
Trini Lopez reminded me of all the Latin music I've loved since high school -- during the bossa nova wave, the favorite was, of course:

Feeling a little better now, y'all.

edgar, I love that animated calypso by Harry, and the woosh man has returned to give you some more of the man who did it right. Thanks to both of you.

Mr. Wizard, that is one of Harry's and Nat's funniest performances. Two wonderful musicians having fun. Thanks, buddy.

Inspired by that cockney, here is a beautiful jazz ballad by The Duke, folks.

The first two record albums that went into my collection were Belafonte and Belafonte Sings of the Caribbean. That was in 1958. I bought all of them, until after Jump Up Calypso. I think this may be the point where he parted ways with RCA Victor. After that, I bought Belafonte on Campus and then Paradise in Gazankulu. I know there was one calypso album I missed, but I have no idea what else he recorded in between. If I had to cull my records, his would be the last to go.

@edgarblythe,
Hey, edgar. Thanks for the info on Harry. There is no one that knows him better than you, Texas.

Thanks for the ecology song by Marvin. I always liked I Heard it Through the Grapevine, and here's a funny commercial based on that song.

Today is Eddy Arnold's birthday, and this is a sad and final song by him, y'all. Hope we can all say what he sings when we approach the end.

@edgarblythe,
I first heard Eddy when I was a kid and lived next door to a guy who played him all the time. He later became the president of a bank.

Here's something funny to lighten up the waning day, folks.

Did you know about the musical ability of a common house fly? It hums in the key of F

Descartes came up with some heavy mathematical stuff by observing one on the ceiling, and an old lady swallowed one. Two movies were made about this little insect, and here is one about him on the wall, folks.

Never underestimate the power of a fly.

And never underestimate the power of Rocky the moose, either, edgar.
