@Letty,
I like barry and izzie's songs.
Interesting, the hand signs with that song, letty.
That's the first time I heard that song being done by E Costello.

@edgarblythe,
ah, edgar. We are rainbows and we've got soul. Liked that one on acoustic guitar, Texas. I think "I Can Sing a Rainbow" may have been intended for deaf children, but can't be certain.

In the corner of my mind, I racall an old country song, Rainbow at Midnight. need to go to the archives for that one.

Glad that we're still connected, y'all, and to celebrate that feature, here is one that is fun. (haven't had but one broken bone in my life; my little finger on the left hand.)That was when I was practicing karate.

er, edgar. I didn't know that Elvis Costello did that one either. Guess that is why they call us "Able to Know."

Found the Rainbow at Midnight, y'all, and I cannot believe what a great voice with perfect entonation Jimmy Wakely possessed. Don't much care for the sax on this one, but we'll tolerate it. He also did "Along the Sante Fe Trail."

Now I will go around singing "dem bones" the rest of the day. Very Happy
Always did like Jimmy Wakely. When I was driving here from the job, the title for a new lyric, Midnight Rainbow, came to me. I was going to search on the computer to see who else may have already had that same idea before proceeding. Jimmy's record saved me the trouble.

@edgarblythe,
ah, The Gentle Giant. Thanks edgar. We seem to be on the same track today, Texas.

Well, we all know the origin of this rainbow, and it is rather sad. It was almost cut from The Wizard of Oz because the movie was running overtime. Yikes! I told that to Tinsword Arthur so long ago.

Remembering you, Judy.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, love Al Jolson and Frankie doing that one, edgar. I just found out that Bobby Darin did it as well, and today is his birthday. More synchronicity, folks.

Here's something different, y'all. Amazing!

@edgarblythe,
Love it, edgar. That's the pop song that was taken from Chopin's Fantasie Impromptu. Hee hee.

Well, folks, we won't do the rainbow connection, but this one is unusual.

I am no fan of Jimi Hendrix, but this song seems a bit better than some he did.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, Zizzy was Bob Marley's son. I didn't realize that Bob had died of brain cancer at such a young age.

Seems that Jimi had some problems as well, Texas. That song was unusual as I didn't hear one mention of a rainbow. Perhaps it's just as well as I think the rainbow's lovely form has vanished amid the gathering storm. <grins>

Well, all, since it's Bobby Darin's birthday, let's do this one. It was originally done by The Lettermen who were influenced by The Four Freshmen.

What a talented kid, he was, and I had no idea that he had done this song.

I didn't realize today is Bobby's birthday. I feel an attachment to him that I haven't felt for another artist. Sort of a brotherly affection.

@edgarblythe,
Bobby was a "once in a life time man", edgar. thanks for that great vocal by him. I first became interested in Bobby when he did "Mack the Knife". further research showed that Kurt Weill started the whole thing with his Three Penny Opera. Music history is so fascinating.

Well, time for me to say goodnight, and I hope our listeners and contributors will help out Prince Gautam who appears to be a bit down today.

Think I will let this be my goodnight song, y'all, and it has always been a type of delight to learn that Jimmy Wakely had such an excellent voice.

When I was a kid, Jimmy Wakely's voice was frequently on the radio, in Fresno. I alsways liked him a lot.
