Guess my comment on Happy Wanderer got lost in cyberspace. I recall when it was a popular song on radio and I have a copy on record. I don't know why it appeals to me so, but I will play it on a whim every so often.

@edgarblythe,
Your comment didn't get lost, edgar. I saw it and aptly replied.

Guess what I'm going to play, Texas. So hard to believe that this Ricky is gone as well.

@edgarblythe,
Love Hank Snow, edgar, especially"I've Been Everywhere." Homer and Jethro did a parody on his Movin' On.

Found this one that compliments Hank, y'all. Never heard it before, but I love the guy's voice.

Here's one about Passing Through. I have it by L Cohen, but this version is by him, Joan Baez and Buffy Sainte-Marie. Edit - and Ramblin Jack Eliot

@edgarblythe,
edgar, That song was fantastic. All those great singers combined and Passing Through. What a wonderful tribute, Texas. Thanks for making my day.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall let Marty and company do it for me.

Drifting along to bed, folks.

Good morning, WA2K radio audience.

edgar, loved that Seekers song. Never heard "I'll Never Find Another You." but it, too, brought back memories.

Hey, Rocky. Love Nat's "Smile" . I've tried that even through my tears. Thanks, Kansas.

Well, Brit. Woman does have soul and the Impressions said it right. Glad that you got those tickets to see The Pet Shop Boys. "Did you See me Coming" was a great soul "elevator".

Wow! Cat/Yusuf stills sounds fabulous. Loved his Peace Train, buddy, and thanks. Gonna listen to that one again.

How about a little classical/jazz combo this morning, y'all, including a quote from Robert Burns.

http://www.missouriskies.org/aug_2006_rainbow/rainbow_conception_missouri_1_crop.jpg

But pleasures are like poppies spread,
You sieze the flower, its bloom is shed;
Or like the snow falls in the river,
A moment white--then melts for ever;
Or like the borealis race,
That flit ere you can point their place;
Or like the rainbow's lovely form
Evanishing amid the storm.--

Classical first, folks.

Now, The Freshmen do the jazz.

Forgot to note that Robert Burns wrote some great lines in your "rainbow" poem. Not to mention Barry's and rock's songs. I know and like those.

@Letty,
Goodmorning Letty, Edgar, Bazza, Panz, LW et al WA2K

finally, one song... I received it when he played it to me this morning on the phone, it became real. He just said "I figured it - this is the song you asked me to send you when I could make it real - listen" Took 19 months, felt like a lifetime - music to my soul.

edgar, I recall that Russ Hamilton Rainbow."...a rainbow to put on your finger...". Thanks, Texas. Hmmm, I checked out your idea that Chopin hated Fantasy Impromptu. Doesn't matter, however, if the listeners like it, right?

Izzie, sounds as thou DAV is redeclaring, hun. Watch out for that love bug; once bitten, twice shy. Razz

Hey, Brit. You are like I am. I like to look at both sides. Loved both of your songs by Dusty. The one by Dusty and Andy is a wonderful thought. Holding hands is rare these days.

Goodnight to both Izzie and Barry the Brit. The song about Audrey was rather sad to sleep by, however.

I love this rainbow song. Tried to find it by Peggy Lee, but no luck.

Then we'll follow with the other side, folks.

Old Time is still a-flying;
And this same flower that smiles today,
Tomorrow will be dying
