@Lightwizard,
Mr. Wizard, you're right about Shaheen, and the lead moderator of Britian's Got Talent did the right thing by stopping him in the middle of his first song. To me, that meant that the show is demanding talent, not necessairly "love for children". Although that kid is adorable, he had to prove that he could do Michael Jackson. (remember when Michael was small?)

Today is Robert Smith's (of The Cure)birthday, folks. So here's one by him.

With a plain name like Robert Smith, one had better be good.

edgar, I don't like Bob playing the harmonica, and although you said that you didn't like this one, I still love it.

He was even better when he did Tambourine Man with The Byrds.

It was my mother that didn't like Mr Tamberine Man. I think the lyrics are some of Dylan's best.

The big Dylan hit I never cared for is Lay Lady Lay.
Here is one of my favorite songs from the Seventies:

@Letty,
That was Simon Cowell who does have a deft ear -- it was the wrong material for his voice. Cowell recognized he had a voice but needed to use it on something in a bluesy, belted out style. Trouble is, he's twelve -- what happens when his voice changes? He could loose that beautiful falsetto (unless he gets voice training now).

edgar, the first song I ever heard by Dylan was Lay Lady Lay. I liked it Texas. What a delight to find that the song was about his dog. Speaking of "first times", really like that one by Roberta Flack. Thanks, Texas.

Mr. Wizard, appreciate that info. Couldn't find it anywhere.

Well, Today is Anthony Quinn's birthday, so let's do a tribute to him.

@edgarblythe,
Me, too, edgar. Loved Zorba the Greek. He did a bunch of movies of which I was not aware.

Just heard from our Urs and she has been ill with a virus. How about a little jam session for her. This is funny and fun at the same time, y'all.

We'll dedicate this to Barry the Brit, too, since he is a prepetual seventeen.

The Buble was very good. And the jam session was a good chance to see a lot of music legends at one time. They sounded pretty good, considering they don't normally sing together.

Good morning, WA2K folks

edgar, that's what made that song such fun. Not one of those guys had the same style.

Brit, I was taken by James Yorkston's dialogue. It was a wee bit difficult to understand so I found the words. I've never heard a Scot be so quiet.

I Watch the park quieten from the hotel window, I hear you softly sleep amongst the cars and saluting songbirds,
For a city whose size had scared me for years right now it's a feeble evening row, not un-similar to a beach evening ending
On the table to my left there's a magazine with a picture of dead money, making a mockery of what I'd call art
But what would I know about the scene in the city that has swallowed up friends lovers and family,
Just give a village the size of a teacup
You're happier here spread out with your eyes closed,
I feel I should order a drink in celebration to welcome the summer, whose first day is ending
Should you wake you'd catch me of course and ask me the wisdom of drinking once more
I cast me mind back to yesterdays wedding where we got drunk and fell over
I did my best to be polite to a family I'd never met, but on numerous occasions, I guess, I could have tried harder
Of course by the end of the night I was a best friend with everyone and every ones wife but right now I couldn't remember their names no matter how hard I try.

Awesome!

The Acorn's "Crooked Legs" was surpassed only by that fantastic video. I listened and watched twice. Thanks for the fireflies.

Today is Jack Nicholson's birthday, y'all, and this song by him surprised me.

He doesn't quite get the melody right on the second part, but I love it!

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I smile when I hear "Why Don't you Haul Off and Love me One More Time." Love it, Texas, and the South African Ladysmith music is awesome.

Well, today is Earth Day, so I chose this one to play 'cause I think we don't need just ONE day.

@edgarblythe,
That trailer was captivating, edgar. I watched it twice. The little bird that fell from the tree touched my heart. Thanks, buddy.

Today is Glen Campbell's birthday, and he is still on the line and doing fine. He is a very talented man, y'all.
