I am at work now, so can't listen. I can, however, often hear the school band to the back side of the property, rehearsing: boom poot poot, boom poot poot, boom poot poot - See y'all after lunch.

@Letty,
Hey, thanks for the Maple Leaf -- I'm mostly British and Welsh. Maybe I should have had maple syrup on my Belgian waffles yesterday instead of peaches. Ooopps, that's on the other thread!

Discovery no longer broadcasts the annual final concert at The Proms, damn it! Love those crazy costumes and here's 2008's final "God Save the Queen" audience chorus:

@Lightwizard,
That was 2008 -- 2009 begins in July, so you can track it down from there. It's broadcast on the BBC live a deferred and on BBC radio. I wonder if BBC America and BBCHD America will have it?

@edgarblythe,
Still good morning here and 90 deg., maybe hit 100. Love the OJays. A little Debussy from The Proms "The Girl with the Flaxen Hair:"

There's more at the Lang Lang page like Autumn Moon on a Calm Lake.

Well, well, Mr. Wizard. I have family ties in England and Wales as well. Loved your God Save the Queen and prom stuff. Thanks, buddy. Lang Lang is fabulous, and , as usual, the Debussey classical is lovely; don't know that one.

edgar, Ah, the soul men; loved the O'Jays. Thanks for that.

See if y'all remember this guy. There will be a musical revival with him and The Four Seasons.

@Letty,
I have a complete CD set of the Debussy Preludes and Images with Claudio Arrau, several which have been orchestrated like The Engulfed Cathedral, which I once did a watercolor painting based on the music. There's also the 12 Etudes -- now I'll get those out to listen.

@Lightwizard,
Mr. Wizard, That was so tranquil. I thought that I knew most of Debussy, but obviously not. I can picture in my mind your watercolor painting to that lovely classical piece. (don't forget to check out Frankie)

I think we have covered all the romance languages, so how about something Russian. I learned this from my brother-in-law when I was around eleven years old. It took a bit of maturity to realize from whence it came.

Meadowland.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, loved Marty Robbin's Buenos Dias, and, of course, Herbie Hancock's Watermelon Man. Thanks for both of them, Texas.

Buenos Noches, my friends. I guess I can dream.

@Barry The Mod,
Morning, Brit. I loved the way Terry Callier sang on Time and Peace. I tend to listen to the side men as well. Loved that alto sax, but I wish he had just played it straight. When he goes into that higher register, it is simply too racous. Ah well, that's just me I guess.

Great job by Susan Boyle with Killing me Softly. Don Mclean would be quite proud, methinks.

Now here is another side to Terry callier, y'all.

Love the jazz flute, but I wish Terry would have sung Lazarus straight as he did on Time and Peace.

I've been watching Izzie's presentation of Jes' interview. Amazing!

As you often say Ms Letty "the things we learn".Was just about to point out that Roberta Flack first did Killing Me Softly,but after checking,it seems that Lori Lieberman was the first to record this Fox and Gambel tune in 1972.Roberta's came along in '73....

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I don't like Bob playing the harmonica, and although you said that you didn't like this one, I still love it.

He was even better when he did Tambourine Man with The Byrds.
