@Letty,
Afternoon Letty, Edgar, Baz & all at our WA2K

Well, I had one of "those" days yesterday - so gained my perspective with watching this again (posted on the other thread)

I cried............. just feel good factor to the max - truly, outstanding

I Dreamed A Dream by Susan Boyle
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lp0IWv8QZY

ha...... makes me cry each time - can you imagine how amazing she felt getting to sing...... it would be like someone taking one of my photos which describes my feelings and putting it on a billboard in London.

So so so so proud of this lady's guts............ ok, I'm gushing - I think she is very inspiring and has huge courage. She has never done this before. LOVE IT.

So sorry not to have been on yesterday - not very well at the moment and things with R-boy's carers are a little.... "up in the air".... made for "one of those days". Think the local radio players are with family but know they'll be back soon.

((((Edgar)))) - thinking of you hun and hoping you and Mrs Ed are alright at this difficult time.x

Letty - how are you girlie - hows the boy and girl? Big huge hugs my friend. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Love to all on our cyber radio here. x

Good Morning, WA2K.

I've been listening to Simon and Garfunkel this morning. I seem to be picking a lot of spring and changing seasons related songs... probably because it's been so cold and gloomy here.

April, Come She Will

I hope the sun is shining brightly on your day, Miss Letty.

Ah, it's good to see everyone back on WA2K.

Izzie, Susan Boyle proves once again that the mainstay of a performer is ability to perform, not necessairly look beautiful. Thanks, hun. Heard from my daughter and things are looking better for both her and my son. Let's just hope the trend continues.

JPB, Fantastic Vivaldi's Four Seasons ala Simon and Garfunkel. The line from "April, Come She Will" that stood out was "...from Tolstoy to Tinker Bell.."

Also, from their "Leaves That Are Green" '...Like a poem I meant to write...'.

Finally, the tornado watch has passed and the lightning storms gone. I was up most of the night filling my walk in closet with survival equipment. Scary.

Here's one by Earth, Wind, and Fire minus one element.

Not much way to "Get Away" from the revolving winds.

@Letty,
Stay safe, Miss Letty. I'm hearing reports of more severe weather along the eastern FL coast.

Not to worry, JPB. I've got my eye on the weather via our weather satellite

edgar, I know that song, buddy. Maybe I should travel on back to Virginia. Notice that Buddy Holly did that one, too.

Well, today is Michael Anthony Hall's birthday, and I wanted to play one about him by Marvin Gaye, but it was a mite too risque.

So, let's listen to this one, folks.

@edgarblythe,
Never heard that Dylan song, edgar. Great one, buddy.

Remember The Brat Pack? Here's the main theme from The Breakfast Club.

Incidentally, The movie The Dead Zone was excellent.

Otis Redding
My Lover's Prayer
I didn't listen to Otis that much when he was alive. He was really good.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, the first song that I ever heard by Otis Redding was "Sittin on the Dock of the Bay". Every copy cat in the world has done it, and I cannot find the original.

"My Lover's Prayer" was good, Texas. A lovely love song.

Well, I like this one by Otis, y'all. So let's listen.

Incidentally, I heard from the blue puppy. She's okay. Nothing from the green sea turtle (honu).

@Letty,
Good evening.......nearly morning Letty, Edgar............... al

Just because...

There's a hero if you look inside your heart
You don't have to be afraid of what you are.
There's an answer if you reach into your soul
and the sorrow that you know will melt away

And then a hero comes along
with the strength to carry on
and you cast your fears aside
and you know you can survive.

So, when you feel like hope is gone
look inside you and be strong
and you'll finally see the truth
that a hero lies in you.

It's a long road when you face the world alone;
No one reaches out a hand for you to hold.
You can find love if you search within your self
and the emptiness you felt will disappear.

And then a hero comes along
with the strength to carry on
and you cast your fears aside
and you know you can survive.

So, when you feel like hope is gone
look inside you and be strong
and you'll finally see the truth
that a hero lies in you.

oh....Lord knows dreams are hard to follow,
But don't let anyone tear them away.
Just Hold on, there will be tomorrow,
In time you'll find the way

And then a hero comes along
with the strength to carry on
and you cast your fears aside
and you know you can survive.

So, when you feel like hope is gone
look inside you and be strong
and you'll finally see the truth
that a hero lies in you
that a hero lies in ... you
mmmm that a hero lies in.....you.

@Izzie,
Izzie, A beautiful song and one that is a great philosophy. Thank you, gal. especially like the final verse:

So, when you feel like hope is gone
look inside you and be strong
and you'll finally see the truth
that a hero lies in you
that a hero lies in ... you
mmmm that a hero lies in.....you.

Thinking of the war, and your song inspired this one, Britess.

Back later, with a poem that personifies understatement.

Ah, dys. I love that funny song. Thanks, cowboy.

Well, here is the poem and my goodnight song replete with lyrics.

First the poem.

Thomas Hardy

The Man He Killed.

Had he and I but met
By some old ancient inn,
We should have set us down to wet
Right many a nipperkin!

But ranged as infantry,
And staring face to face,
I shot at him as he at me,
And killed him in his place.

I shot him dead because--
Because he was my foe,
Just so: my foe of course he was;
That's clear enough; although

He thought he'd 'list, perhaps,
Off-hand like--just as I--
Was out of work--had sold his traps--
No other reason why.

Yes; quaint and curious war is!
You shoot a fellow down
You'd treat, if met where any bar is,
Or help to half a crown.

Now, the great jazz song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3CdR3M0VII&feature=related

If I should lose you
The stars would fall from the sky
If I should lose you
the Leaves would wither and die

The birds in May-time - they'd sing a mournful refrain
And I would wander around - hating the sound of rain

With you beside me
The rose would bloom in the snow
With you beside me
No winds of winter would blow

I gave you my love - and I was living a dream
But living would seem - in vain if I
Lost you.

Goodnight, world

From Letty with love

Good morning, WA2K radio folks.

Hey, Brit. Good to see you back in the company of Dusty Springfield. Just did a quick check on her background, and found that I knew absolutely nothing about her. What a talented lady and the fact that she was Roman Catholic presented a problem in her life. Really enjoyed "Get Ready". A little too early for me to get up and dance, however. The memorial tribute was fabulous, too.

Wow! I had no idea that Johnny Mercer wrote Midnight Sun. Love that song and Dee Dee Bridgewater did a fabulous job with that tribute to Ella.

Nite, Modman. Will miss you tomorrow.

edgar, Glad that you can listen and contribute to our cyber radio. Not always possible to tune in to every song we play.

Ah, I just found The Look of Love by Diana Krall. Speaking of fantastic vocalist, folks.
