The Ry Cooder song is as good as the Sam Cooke version, letty. I see my old buddy Van Dyke Parks is one of the musicians.

@edgarblythe,
I had forgotten about Phil Specter, edgar. Sorta reminds me of Robert Blakely .
Remember Baretta?

Love that Men at Work Song, Texas, especially the flute.

Thanks for keeping us on the air and back to AM radio.

Your Down Under song reminded me of this one.

Phil Spector is convicted of 2nd-degree murder
Legendary music producer Phil Spector has been found guilty of second-degree murder in the 2003 shooting death of an actress at his home in Alhambra, California. The six men and six women began their deliberations on March 26. Spector now faces 15 years to life in prison.

@edgarblythe,
UhOh, edgar. He'll have stripes aroung his shoulders just like Johnny Cash.

Do they still have chain gains? Then he'll be a man of constant sorrow.

They let Robert Blake off easy. Shows what an expensive lawyer can accomplish. Toto sings pretty good. I had not listened to them before, that I recall.

Well, now the work day is over, time to - - -

@Letty,
I don't know if there are still chain gangs, but gets he the stripes, anyway. - I've considered him a dangerous person for many years.
I love the Johnny song, as well as Man of Constant Sorrow.

@edgarblythe,
And I love The Unsinkable Molly Brown, edgar. You do realize there really was a Molly Brown aboard the Titanic, right? She saved a bunch of people in one of the life boats.

The Unsinkable Molly Brown inspired me to read up on Molly. She was considered a hero of the Titanic tragedy. The film, Titanic, does not show that much about her. Last time I visited my daughter, I noted the location of Leadvile in the Denver area, but it was too far to visit. Oh well.

@edgarblythe,
The film caused me to appreciate Harve Presnell's voice.

@edgarblythe,
Hmm, edgar. Kathy Bates played Molly Brown in James Cameron's version of the Titanic.

Went on a search for Harve Presnell's song from Paint Your Wagon. No luck, but as synchronicity would have it, I found the same song but by Sam Cooke.

@Letty,
They gave a sympathetic portrait of Molly (Kathy Bates), but on the life boat, the one thing she attempted to save people, she was made to shut up by a crew member.

Thought I would jump back in time to this by Eddy Arnold.

@edgarblythe,
Eddy Arnold had a great voice, edgar. Love that one.

Where are all the animals? Time for me to say goodnight, and although The Animals had a recording of this, ToTo's is much better.

I'll follow House of the Rising Sun with a memory as well

First, ToTo

Now a surprise from Pamela Polland who did "I got it Bad and That Ain't Good"

As always,

I am not familiar with Pamela Holland, but she is very good. I like the Toto version, but to me The Animals' version of House of the Rising Sun is definitive. Not to say the only good one. I also like the B Dylan version. In it, the narrative comes from the girl's point of view.

@edgarblythe,
Morning, WA2K and edgar.

Loved your goodnight song by Marty. Beyond the Reef reminds me of Beyond the sea.

Great song of the cities by Tony and Andy. Covers a lot, Texas. Thanks for hanging in, buddy.

Here's a great one by The Eagles.
