@edgarblythe,
edgar, I recall Jack Benny as "a boy" on Rich Little's Christmas Carol. He played the violin as usual and had that dead pan humor that so typifies him.

Ah, country hymns. They are a part of my past as well. Thanks, for the memory. Speaking of which. Here is a Jack Benny clip with someone we all know.

This is not Easter, but the old clips inspired this by Perry.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I have never heard a voice more pleasing to the ear than that of Perry Como. I love that song, Texas. Thanks for another memory.

Today is David Cassidy's birthday. Remember him? Here is the song that I recall by him, y'all.

@dyslexia,
Hmmm, dys. I think that I would rather hear the Don Shirley trio do the set break for George Shearing. (those boys had a wee bit of trouble with their entonation)

Love Hawaiian music, however, so we'll continue with the theme.

I think I love you - Brings back a period I recall rather fondly.
Hawaiian sounds are always soothing to me.
Soothing. That's the sound I get from this Everly Brothers song.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, me. I do remember that one by those brothers, edgar. Thanks.

Today is Andy Garcia's birthday, and AMC was showing The Untouchables. Loved that movie. Funny, all. I was discussing the end of prohibitions with a teller at my bank. He put the reason so succinctly when I asked him why the amendment was repealed. "The government needed the taxes." Probably the reason for the "sin taxes" right now. Rolling Eyes Finally filed my taxes today.

For Andy.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks, edgar, for the reminder of Pat. I guess many songs remind us of something. Some are good memories; some are not so good.

Today is Vince Gills' birthday, and although I don't know him at all, I chose this trio because they are great.

edgar, I didn't know that Kenny Rogers sang Unforgettable. Thanks, Texas.

dys, that was a most unusual song by Stevie Ray Vaughan. Wonder why they call it Wing?

Hey, Rock. That was one great song by Little Big Town. Yep, Kansas. Life was simple but true in the boondocks. "the shoes of the fisherman".

Well, folks, it's time for me to say goodnight, and I think I shall do so with Bach. I am still trying to learn this one on piano by sight reading.

@Barry The Mod,
Good morning, WA2K radio.

Hey, Brit. Nice to see you back and in the company of Marian McPartland. Saw her perform at the LSO in Daytona Beach. Her comment about cars, etc, being able to park on the beach was, "Why?". She's a great pianist, and thanks for "In a Mist."

Billy Taylor I am not familiar with, but I listened to his performance on PBS. He is fabulous.(incidentally, I love the word "stuff")

Speaking of jazz, folks. How about a piano lesson in chord progression. Love it in this song by the Duke.

Really delightful to be awakened early this morning by someone stating that Billy Graham was predicting that 2009 was the year of the rapture and the return of the messiah.

Thanks, dys, for Mississippi John Hurt doing Irene Goodnight.

edgar, you did Canadian Sunset quite well. Thanks, Texas.

It seems that today is Jack Casady's birthday. Let's see if we like his bass on this one, folks.
