@yitwail,
Wow, honu. You just reminded me of Tim Reid in WKRP in Cincinnati. He was referred to as Venus Flytrap. I also discovered that a vegan was a vegitarian. Learn something new every day on our cyber radio.

Remember this? Eureka!

hbg, I love Brahms' Hungarian Dance. I love everything he composed.

I'm glad that you're back as well, satt.

I remember everything you taught me. The Child Inside; the Japanese work songs; and especially this one.

http://www.jacquedee63.com/sukiyaki.html

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think I shall do it with a lullaby from Brahms that I sang to my daughter so long ago.

Oops, Brit. Missed your song. Tomorrow!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t894eGoymio&feature=related

Lullaby, and good night, with pink roses bedight,
With lilies o'er spread, is my baby's sweet head.
Lay thee down now, and rest, may thy slumber be blessed!
Lay thee down now, and rest, may thy slumber be blessed!

Lullaby, and good night, your mother's delight,
Shining angels beside my darling abide.
Soft and warm is your bed, close your eyes and rest your head.
Soft and warm is your bed, close your eyes and rest your head.

Sleepyhead, close your eyes. mother's right here beside you.
I'll protect you from harm, you will wake in my arms.
Guardian angels are near, so sleep on, with no fear.
Guardian angels are near, so sleep on, with no fear.

Thanks to all and as always

From Letty with love

BtM, speakin of themes, certainly enjoyed the Guns of Navarone by the Skatalites. here they're doin the old fave, Mood for Ska. Cool (note to Letty & other jazz buffs, both on the old studio recording & this live rendition, Tommy McCook on sax quotes James Moody's famous alto solo.

Good morning, WA2K radio. Hey, the Brit didn't say "woosh" so I guess he's still around.

Thanks for the Mission. I recall that, but had no idea that John Williams did it. Also love the music from Dances With Wolves. Great movie and reminds me of shape shifting. Odd, I watched Jack Nicholson's Wolf last evening, but he didn't dance, just jumped a lot.

Hey, honu. That is a most unusual version of "I'm in the Mood for Love". Not familiar with SKA, but the sax man was awesome. Thanks!

Today is Robert Downey, Jr.'s birthday, y'all, so let's hear one by him.

Psych time. (do I hear an echo in here?) Today is James David Rodriguez's birthday. I had no idea that this was the guy's real name.

Like the TV show, however, so here is the theme to it.

@yitwail,
honu, I had to listen to your song several times to get the meaning.

Found this:

The lyrics were inspired by The Tibetan Book Of The Dead. Originally, John wanted his voice to sound like he was singing from the top of the Himalayas, and he wanted a bunch of Buddhist monks chanting in the background. Of course, they didn't have the money to do such a thing, and what you got is what you hear, which is spectacular anyway. And it was actually Macca who made and suggested that random loops be put into the song.

Still didn't understand WALT DISNEY; WALT DISNEY. Thanks for a new experience.

This Beatle song is one of the few instrumentals that I have heard by them.

@hamburger,
hbg, welcome back. Loved the mandolin sleighride, Canada. It's a rare thing to hear those instruments featured.

What a surprise to find this one by Vivaldi. (hmmm. Where's JPB)

Good early morning, WA2K folks.

I have been looking for that "Little Sir Echo" for a long time. Don't know why I know it. I think it may have been inspired by the myth, Echo and Narcissus.

Hey, Brit. Loved "I Read the News Today, O' Boy" by Neil. I'm afraid to read the news now.

I remember "These Boots Were Made for Walking" by Nancy Sinatra, but not by Jessica. Thanks, buddy.

Izzie, never heard Creed's "Eyes Wide Open." Great song, gal, and thanks.

Today is Gregory Peck's birthday, so here is a tribute to him. I remember how disappointed I was with "Old Gringo." That just was NOT Ambrose Bierce.

Our flowers for today? Guess!

http://www.theflowerexpert.com/media/images/mostpopularflowers/narcissus/narcissus-jonquilla.jpg

And, folks, our quote for today by John Milton.

'Sweet Echo, sweetest nymph, that liv'st unseen
Within thy airy shell
By slow Meander's margent green,
And in the violet-embroidered vale
Where the lovelorn nightingale
Nightly to thee her sad song mourneth well:
Canst thou not tell me of a gentle pair
That likest thy Narcissus are?'
John Milton (1608-1674), 'Comus'

Went out to eat last evening at the only decent restaurant left in my area. Yum. Lobster tails and tossed salad. Love eating outside, especially in the gentle warmth of the breeze from the sea.
