This is one of three songs by Bonnie Tyler that I like.

@edgarblythe,
Total Eclipse of the Heart. Loved that, edgar. Thanks for introducing me to Bonnie. (if you haven't watched O Brother, do so. It's a good view of The GREAT Depression)

Well, it's L. Ron Hubbard's birthday, but I think that I shall shy away from him, y'all. Instead, tomorrow is Quincy Jones' birthday. Someone once told me that the only reason that they watched Sanford and Sons is because Quincy played the theme.

Here's a tribute to him, folks.

This is a legend in Germany - Udo Lindenberg. He made a big comeback in 2008. The titel is 'what did time do to us' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSmfNxmaQHc

Wow! dys, I have two songs by Quincy. The one that you mentioned and the theme from The Color Purple.

This one is haunting, folks.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wGpNQooZGs

And The color Purple for which Quincy wrote much of the music.

edgar, What a great tribute to Neil. Clay Aiken's Solitaire was awesome.

Urs, you are such a dear. So good to see you back, but your song was The Cure again. If you're not too sleepy, pehaps you can replay the one that you mentioned

@dyslexia,
dys, that was awesome. Wonder who was playing the flute in that combo? Never heard it, but I'm glad that you did, and now we get to. Thanks!

Well, it's time for me to say goodnight, and although our listeners may get tired of me playing this one, bear with me, ok?

as always, to all of you,

Good morning, WA2K folks.

edgar, loved your "seeker" song. Never liked scotch with or without soda, but often we drink a bartender's mistakes. Had a scotch and coke one evening. Razz

Ah, dear Urs. Udo Lindenberg has a fantastic voice. Especially liked the second one replete with video. Thanks, gal.

When I was in Virginia, I saw my son's telescope and recalled his fascination with the solar system. Since today is Giovanni Schiaparelli's birthday, how about a memory from Mars. (ever wonder why aliens are alway depicted as being green?)

I found it.

The seriousness on this thread has gone on entirely to long, so its time to get silly.

From an old TV show I watched as a kid, I give you....The Banana Splits

My brother has used that process, or a similar one, to produce album jackets and book covers, among other projects. I love the results these people are capable of.

@edgarblythe,
Me, too, edgar. Your brother is one talented guy, incidentally.

Well, today is Les Brown's birthday. Remember this one?

There was an episode of M*A*S*H* in which that Les Brown record was played incessantly, until Col. Potter finally grew weary of it. I always thought that was a great recording.
